I got my '05 coupe up to 125 a few weeks ago. Before this car I drove a grand am so I was sh*tting bricks, but afterwards I felt like a bada$$.

110...fast enough. Some kids here on Long Island just got sentenced to 3 years in prison for street racing, losing control and killing a newly engaged couple. I have yet to find a spot where there are NO cars so I can push it a bit more. And, yeah, if you get clocked doing 140, you are going to jail, reckless driving, possible felony, losing your license, etc. You are essentially done driving. Make sure you have a good radar detector, or know a cop in the area well.

Yeah, as I mentioned in the beginning, this was not a wise thing to do. But I made sure most of the critical factors were considered (other cars, cops, road/weather conditions, 350Z condition). Sometimes you're caught up in the moment and take that risk. If I had gotten caught, it would have been over from a lot of perspectives. But I took it and thankfully didn't get caught. But as I also stated, this was one time deal because it was highly dangerous. Looking back now, I don't regret it, but will never do something that dangerous again. At least now I can say I've "lived"...and lived to tell about it.

I was curious on how fast it would go in 5th, managed to get it to 140 and I called it quits from there. Surprisingly it still pulls at that speed

a radar detectors not going to save you once you've gone over 100mph. By the time it goes off, its too late

155 with two people in the car (my best friend and his gf on his lap) didn't want to exactly go that fast, in fact I wanted to stick to side roads and just show fast acceleration since too much can go wrong at high highway speeds but she egged me on and I couldn't say no, dont flame 95% of you wouldn't say no if some one asked you to show off your car.

Sidenotes: Car was stable and still pulling
(This was all on a closed course in case higher authorities are reading this thread lol)

Default max 160mph......ticket 117mph

I maxed @ 160mph on digital speedo @ 2am in the morning once when I new highway patrol would be slim in my area. Also have scored a 117mph ticket and only paid $152.46 for speeding, no reckless driving, nor jail time for 30mph or more over speed limit. I actually never saw the trooper, he was hiding in the bush where they normally never hide. Just so happened to be 7 miles from my exit on I-59 where I decided to bump up from 95 to 120, did this for 3 miles then bumped back down to 95 and over the next 4 miles slowed down twice to 75mph @ mile markers where they normally sit. I was merging to exit when I saw the wig wags in the mirror. Trooper told me he didn't think he was going to catch me! Found out he was a supervisor with a desk job and just decided to go out and shoot for the day and did't sit in the regular hiding spots, and oh, ins never increased thank god!

I just broke in my Z this week and I just started driving a lil harder. I've only pushed her to 110. It's pretty hard to do 150 in San Diego...Cops everywhere!

If its manual the top speed is 140, Auto the gears allow for more so 145,I cant remember if I stopped or what the reason was but I usually never stop so prolly the car.

Had the Z up to 130 a few times. In 2000, I was in southern Bavaria on the autobahn. Had an Audi A6 running 240 km/h (144 mph) for 20 minutes straight at night. That was unbelievable. The A6 was at or near redline the entire time and had no problem with it.
