Finally Got my Z

Finally Got my Z
After months of hearing from others about that special moment when they went to pick up their Z, my turn finally arrived. It was also very unexpected.
I ordered in May, but, due to the dealer's initial allocation, the order was not placed with NNA until Sept 6th. Never got my order #, but, received my VIN# the first week of November. My Z was scheduled to be at the dealer on Dec 18th. So when I received the call on Monday that it was leaving VA and should arrive that night, I was speechless. By 7pm on 11/25, I was driving my long awaited Z home (Daytona Blue, Track). BTW, I always thought of this car as a Christmas present so it is hilarious that my first payment is due 12/25.
I have to say that having driven and lived with the car for just a short while, I can already see that most of the complaints I have read about the ergonomics, interior and such like are easily dismissed if you keep in mind that it is a sports car. Compromises had to be made but it appears to me that Nissan designers chose wisely.
The biggest surprise to me was just how quiet the car is, especially in 6th gear. I could see myself driving across country with no trouble at all, this of course assumes I buy all my clothes as I go :-)
One small negative: The suspension does appear to "porpoise" quite a bit over uneven road, almost like the Eibach Pro-kits do. This may speak to why the car tends toward understeer, i.e. soft rear springs. I'm sure there will be hundreds of suspension kits to fix this in the near future, although, I think Nissan did an excellent job in tuning the suspension for comfort as well as performance. I suspect the average buyer will be very happy to leave the suspension unchanged.
As far as fit and finish: While the plastics are a little on the thrifty side, the fit and finish appears excellent and so far no rattles or squeaks.
Paint: I do see some orange peel in the pain but nothing that would detract from the fun factor. If anything, people are in total awe of the paint and its color.
This car is awesome and (for $36k) good value too. And I seriously doubt that even Porsche 996 drivers receive the same level of attention that this car is getting. I'm already busy cleaning off the finger prints.

Flying-
It's great to see that you finally got your car. I remember your ordeal with getting the car ordered. Now all that struggle has paid off. Enjoy!!!

PS
1st payment 12/25, now that sucks

Thanks to everyone on this site for making the whole experience something to remember. I think this car has great potential both on and off the track and I'm sure this forum will be a cornerstone in the Z's success.
Thanks JD!

Congrats! I too love that color. I sat in the same car, but this was a touring model. The blue is is just jaw-dropping.... I'm trying to decide if I want to go with a base model, or spend the extra $ for a touring...
Anyone in the same type of decision?
