It's not just you, it's the other fools out there that are jacking up your rates. I can't complain about them, over the last two years I have received more than $250 back, because they had fewer payouts on insurance claims than expected. You can't say that about many companies.

Im 28, perfect record, no claims, own my a house, have a 750+ credit score and have been with progressive for 6 years and I pay 1151 for 6 months. Thats the cheapest I can find. I talked to the lady at progressive and she say its because of my zip code. I live 1/2 mile for center of downtown ATL. Maybe thats your problem too?

I got a quote from progressive today for $600 cheaper per year w/ same coverage as USAA... I think my rates went up bc i am not longer a student and so I lost the good student discount. I am going to call them tomorrow and ask them how much it will go down if I take defensive driving if its not at least 500 a year I will most likely switch and give them another try when I turn 25... my sister says when she did her policy no one could touch USAA's price so I guess they just like to stick it to the youngin's.

I called today and taking defensive driving will only save me $107 every 6 months ($214 a year). So I think I am going to be switching to progressive till I turn 25 since it will be exactly $555.42 a year cheaper for the exact same coverage.

i am 26, single, and have usaa at $458.00 every six months. no tickets, no wrecks, no claims. my rates went down a little ($35 every six months) when I turned 25. i have also gotten money back from them in the past like CAN0802.

i guess it just has to be a location thing. sucks either way though. sounds like you are making the right choice switching to progressive.

yea I do my loan and my renters insurance from USAA and they told me "once a member always a member so you can always come back"... When I turn 25 I will give them a call and see what they can do for me.

USAA has been good to me. I'm paying $248 every six months for my Z, but I live in VA and I'm 39, so that helps alot. My last ticket was in 1999.

I switched from USAA to progressive a couple years ago. Progressives service is just as good, in fact, that is who USAA refers you to if you get a DUI and they will no longer cover you. I'm paying about what Del is paying here in the ATL for 2 cars.

Here is the real kicker though. I like to pay my insurance monthly, but progressive's rate is based on paying it all at once, so the only thing I use my USAA credit card for is to pay my insurance! :P
