Default Quick advice on 350z offer (might pick up car in 16 hours!)

Getting the following:

- 2005 350z touring
- 6mt
- Silverstone
- Tint
- Chrome grill
- 7 year/100k mile warranty (dealership throwin)
- Free oil changes (dealership throwin)

Getting at $500 above invoce...total out the door (9.1% tax in my county) is gonna be $35k solid

Opinions?

I believe MSRP is around $34.5K without the chrome grill and tint. You probably could do better unless there is no competition in your area (like there is no competition here in Hawaii). But if you love the car as it is...any price is a good price. You say they're throwing in the warranty...I think it's a hidden charge added in to the $35K. Look at how long the car has been sitting on their lot. If it's been more than two months, the dealer may be willing to negotiate a lower price. I hope this helps.

Personally, I think you could get away with $34K OTD and as with everything else, nothing is free . . . I just love dealers creative accounting

I got my performance for just under $31K OTD, but that was also in June 2003. I'm sure the price is creeping up just a bit and a few options here and there could mean a swing of about $1K. Combine that with the 9.1% tax rate (ouch . . . its 6% here in Lexington, KY) and its not a terrible deal. Try for $34K . . . if there is another dealer near you, just tell them that you're contemplating between two Touring models. They should budge just a bit since every sale goes towards their allotment . . . just wait until the end of the month (quotas)

thank you gentlemen for your advice. I know, $35k isnt exactly the deal of the century, but the tax rate out here is brutal

I'm going to see if I can get a performance model...I dont know if I really need all the crap that comes in a touring

I actually was offered a touring model for the same price as I paid for the performance . . . it just depends on what cars they have sitting idle on the lot. I opted out on the touring because I've had leather seats before in a sports car and I'm not a big fan of them: upkeep, wear & tear, and the notorious slip n slide while driving aggressively

I got 36,500 OTD on a fully loaded Track model. The MSRP was higher than the OTD price by more than $1K.

Thats a good idea, since leather and the cruddy bose stereo are the only real benefits...

well...I BOUGHT THE Z TODAY!!!

I sat in the performance model, and I was totally turned off my the cloth seats. I'm comming from a 2001 acura cl type s, so I need the basic amnities such as leather, heated seats, and yes, even the bose system.

If i wasnt totally exhausted from last night's drunken escapades...id be jumping off of the walls

I have a Touring Coupe also, and I love it. Watch out for the slippery seats...

I felt the same way... I am getting my Z in a few days, I felt that the cloth was very rough and uncomfortable. I thought I wanted the performance trim, but after sitting in the Touring, I couldn't resist the leather. I realize that the cloth is supposed to be rough so it grips your butt and keeps you from moving around, but I probably won't be taking the Z to the track so "touring" sounds just right for me.

Plus my girlfriend thinks the leather is sexier, what can I say but:
leather, chicks dig it.

$500 over invoice is fine. You won't do much better without incentives.

nope they wouldnt come down from the chrome grill (billet grill or something), so I got it for $35800 out the door. I know its pricy, but it was the best deal I could pull on a 2005 silverstone touring in the area. But, at least I got all season rubber mats thrown in

This is my first manual car, so I'm still getting used to it...its still a little jerky while driving, especially given the number of hills in the area
