Default Splash guards or not?

Hahah... I havent seen my car without splash guards(nor do i want to take em off just to see at the moment cuz its too hot out most of the time to care to do much work)...

but... what do you guys think? I doubt i will do any exterior modifications to my car, but i was just wondering if u guys prefer the looks of the Z with or without the splash guards?

TIA

bump b/c i was thinking of removing just the rears as I've seen that done alot here. Think it looks even nicer like that with a subtle front lip. my .02

1 question to those w/out splashguards. Do you really get a lot of road debris or rock chips w/out them? Particularly on the back of the car?

I took them off of my car and I like the way the car's lines flow better w/o them. I have not noticed any more road debris or rock chips since I have had them off, which has been about a year now.

mine never had them so i guess i cant say that i have ever missed them.

i do though have a negative feeling with them cause the dealer i was originally going to buy my Z from tried to add them on automatically and when i questioned him about why he was automatically adding in an "option", he stated something to the effect that they were labled as an option but not really cause its was almost "impossible" to get a Z without one. (He was just trying to add on the bottom line-jerkoff)

so what I did was go out and find one without splash guards out of spite. Thats the kind of person i am!!!!

My '04 Base didn't come with them but I ended up buying a set front/rear after a couple weeks of owning it. I think they enhance the appearance of the stock body a lot. The sides are definitely hot and the rear are pretty decent. It makes the rear look a lot wider. Most people I see that remove them are on stock wheels/tires and they like that it makes there tires look wider but I've got 275's in the back so either way it doesn't matter.

I like them. The car looks better to me with them than without them. I considered a full Nismo body kit, but decided I liked the splash guards with the Nismo front chin spoiler. I also have the OEM rear spoiler. Personally I think the car needs a front spoiler. I don't like the way the stock front stops at the bottom.

I agree with 10 il 4, larger and wider wheels make the splash guards look better too. Just like if you have a body kit it looks better with wider wheels. Here are a couple of pictures of my car where you can see the spoiler and the front splash guards and how they look together.

As far as splash guards go, the 350Z's look pretty good. I prefer the lines of the car without them, but for practicallity (winter driving) I bought them and don't mind the new lines.

Nice Brickyard josephl30. I like the rounder shape of the Z without the splash guards. I've had mine off for about 3-4 months now, and I don't get much more dirt on the car compared to before. It came with the car, and a few people think it looks good, but I'd always wanted to take them off. So I just took them off and can't say I regret it.

Unless you there's a body kit on, I really like the guards. But on a SB you can barely see them.
