Question only 59MPh in 2nd @ redline???

I can only get to 56 MPH (digital)at redline (which is like 58 MPH Speedo), well shifting RIGHT at redline, before I get fuel cutoff. I thought it was 62MPH??? Does this indicate a problem with my ride? ANyone else get to 60+ MPH with Maual tranny?

That's strange. I have the six speed and I can get to about 62, or so in second gear right at the red line. Maybe your gauges are off because the gearing in all the cars is the same. I mean, 6600 or so rpm with the same gear ratio should give everyone the same speeds at redline in second gear. So maybe your gauges aren't calibrated right or somethin??

Did you change your tires/wheels to a different size?

this seems to be a problem in my loaner track Z as well. i only get 58 mph at the top of my second. but it seems that my digital speedo and the analog one are in sync. i have to use the momentum i get from second to hit 60 without shifting to third. i hope this isnt the case on my touring Z

I got to 59 on my old superblack Performance. I sold it and now have a redline performance, I will try it as soon as breakin in completed to see if this car is different.

Unless you changed your tires, this seems to indicate a problem with your speedometer. You might want to have the calibration checked.

The only other problem might be your tach is off, and the rev limiter is kicking in too early, but this is less likely.
