Good one. liability would probably be ok (you pay the other guy's car), but comprehensive must be a pain, IF you can get it...

http://www.myluxurycars.com/CarPhoto...,20TH.,%20&car[22]=20,900&myphoto=152

(or be sure to paste the whole link)

look at the price he's asking... sounds good... until you find out its a SALVAGE. then he goes on saying, ITS SUCH A GOOD DEAL. well it was an exterior, left fender damage... but still. 20k for salvage??

Ok... my girlfriend recently bought a 03 Honda Civic. She had $12000 to spend roughly, so that was her budget. Trust me, we found literally hundreds of cars out there, SALVAGED, and the owners wanted practically top dollar blue book price most of the time. We came upon car after car after car that was totally and utterly overpriced, people unwilling to negotiate, saying "Honda's have good resale value, so I'm not going to budge."

Ultimately, we found one in perfect condition for her price of $12,000. We knew it was a great deal, so we took it.

Sure, we saw TONS of salvaged vehicles in the $10,500 - 11,000 range, but that is simply way too overpriced for a salvage. Patience is the key, just know that you don't have to (and shoudn't) buy salvaged.

Rachel (I'm assuming that's your name). Dont' bother with this guy. We already told you. Just wait, your perfect Z will come soon.

As for insurance companies covering salvage'd vehicles, sure they'll cover you. Insurance companies will never turn away business (as long as you don't wreck all the time). But the fact that it's salvaged, they'll charge you a good amount more than normal. So props to sisco534 for bringing up that point.

Huh? I didn't understand that 2nd sentence... Can you drive an MT? Which did you test drive? The AT has some good peppage to it.

Girls, and men over 45, are allowed to drive AT. If you do not fit into these categories, drive a MT to avoid getting flamed please, thank you.

You can usually learn at your local driving school. Hang out with some 15 year olds for a while, learn to drive stick, then laugh at them because they can't buy beer.

I remember that when I went to Westwood Driving School in west LA way back when, there was an option to learn manual.

How fast you learn, well, that all depends on you. You will do better if you understand how all the mechanical parts work...from flywheel to clutch and synchros, etc. Read "how manual transmissions work" on www.howstuffworks.com

Any idiot can make a manual car "go", while never ever stalling it. It's called burning the clutch... it smells bad and it's costly, so try not to do it.

My brother in law taught me a long time ago, I got it down in a couple of hours (on flat surfaces), and it took me a few days to be able to consistently start on an uphill slope. It still freaks me out and pisses me off when people pull right up to my bumper when I'm on an uphill slope.
