Blinky headlights for passing trick?

well an automatic light blinking things other than hazards or blinkers is proably illegal so I doubt its for real, but the salesman just proably flashed the brights real quick as its not that hard to do. I accidently do so when hitting the blinkers sometimes.

Yeah, I was wrong...big time. My wife and me traded in my 2002 Quest for a 2004 Z, kind of a nice surprise for me. Even though I knew I was getting the 98 Pathfinder (SE, 5-speed, silver and back when they still had all the black trim) I'd been in love with that truck since we got it 6 years ago.
I spent about 4-5 hours chasing my 5 year old daughter and 8 year old son thru the Nissan/Jaguar/Audi dealership in Scherrillville while they appraised our vehicles. They offered us an offensively low $4k for the Pathfinder (it was under 30k miles at the time and mint) which in the mood I was in was about enough to get me to walk out right there, and then they offered us $17k on the Quest since they had no used mini-vans in inventory.
My wife's eyebrows went up and she started talking, that number made trading it in and getting a new $30k-ish car a real no-brainer for us. (I never really liked the mini-van. The Quest was great and insanely zippy and all, but I just never was comfortable driving around a mini-van....just a vanity thing. )
My wife and I were looking at a new Altima SE-R, when my wife mentioned the Z looked nice and the guy offered her a test drive. She declined 'cause we couldn't get a car without a backseat for kids, but I talked her into it with the simple argument of "when is the last time someone offered you a chance to drive a car like that?".
They had one 6-speed manual on the lot, a 2004 silverstone Performance that was so dusty they had to clean the windows so they could see out of it (this was at the tail end of winter here, Z's are FUN in the snow!!!!) and they took off with the guy driving. They came back 10 minutes later to drop off the salesman and my wife and son took off for a ride.
They didn't come back for an hour.
When they pulled up my son jumped out of the car screaming, "THIS CAR ROCKS DAD!!!!". I looked at my wife and she had this very happy little grin on her face and said, "it's really sweet". She looked at me and told me we could afford it if we could live without the mini-van and the backseat. Since she works and doesn't really need a backseat to go to work we could pull it off, if I didn't mind driving the Pathfinder.
We went in and signed the papers and took her home, and we've been in love ever since.
Sorry for the babble, I'm a stay-at-home Dad who's pretty frantically swamped in real-life so I tend to socialize on technical bulletin boards about PC repair and video cards...but I got into the habit of joining up any forums that pertain to any new interests. Joining here taught me a lot so far, and I look forward to learning more....just please forgive my tendancy to post long meandering stories from time to time.

Cause there is no such thing. Talked to a service rep at my dealership who is a friend of mine & he laughed at the idea. For one it would be illegal. Only law enforcement & emergency vehicles can legally have auto blinking lights. Plus, if it were a feature, you can best believe that Nissan would have put it in the manual. Japenese auto manufacturers are ones for 'Easter Eggs' in their cars. Any feature that they can 'sell', they are surely going to make it known. Two, its senseless not to just call the dealer you bought the car from & ask. Unless your worried that they will laugh at such a silly notion (like my friend did when I asked him.....). Even still if your curious, why not just ask?
My buddy figured that this guy doesn't have anything better to do but get everyone here all worked up over something that doesn't exist. Good job man, you got two pages out of people here. Not trying to put you or your theory down, but it just doesn't exist.......
