Blinky headlights for passing trick?
I have a stock 2004 performance, (well actually it's my wife, but she shares well
), and my wife swears that when the dealer took her for a test drive in it before letting her drive it showed her a trick with the highbeam switch that made the headlights blink the highbeams on/off incredibly fast real quick.
I'm not talking about just pulling the lever quickly to make the highbeams flash on/off a few times, I'm talking about something to set off an automatic little flashing routine.
I'm sorry if it's a stupid question that has already been answered, but I've searched the boards here and haven't found an answer and it's one of the things that keeps bugging me in the back of me mind whenever I'm driving it.
Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

She's the 6-speed stick(manual), what's the trick?
This has been bugging me since the day we got the car, but I've been too scared to go back to the Nissan dealer and ask....we ALWAYS end up buying a car when we go there it seems! :? (The Z is our fourth in a row from the same place, they've been great to us)
EDITED BITS: Added the "(manual)" bit for clarity.

Okay I re read your original post and I guess it's not the same thing you were talking about...
What I'm talking about is push the hazards on, throw the car into reverse, and tap the brakes so the hazards go on, the reverse lights are on and the brake lights are on, you can flip the high beams on and off too if you want...it's like a freaking UFO or a light show, lol sorry totally misread the original post I read it in a hurry.

highly doubt there's a standard feature... but i know with the lights to "off" position flicking the highbeam on / off reallllly fast creates a strobbing effect... you can always just get strobes put in your headlights tho
keep us posted!
Are you sure your wife isn't mistaken? This seems ridiculously stupid. Why would there be a 'trick' to make your high beams flash incredibly fast If there was a way to do this, sounds more like a defect than a trick.

I wasn't paying attention at all that day I'm afraid. I was a bit honked that my wife had me clean up the mini-van and Pathfinder to "take in to be appraised" since I thought the invitation was just a total scam and nothing would come of it.
Yeah, I was wrong...big time. My wife and me traded in my 2002 Quest for a 2004 Z, kind of a nice surprise for me. Even though I knew I was getting the 98 Pathfinder (SE, 5-speed, silver and back when they still had all the black trim) I'd been in love with that truck since we got it 6 years ago.
I spent about 4-5 hours chasing my 5 year old daughter and 8 year old son thru the Nissan/Jaguar/Audi dealership in Scherrillville while they appraised our vehicles. They offered us an offensively low $4k for the Pathfinder (it was under 30k miles at the time and mint) which in the mood I was in was about enough to get me to walk out right there, and then they offered us $17k on the Quest since they had no used mini-vans in inventory.
My wife's eyebrows went up and she started talking, that number made trading it in and getting a new $30k-ish car a real no-brainer for us. (I never really liked the mini-van. The Quest was great and insanely zippy and all, but I just never was comfortable driving around a mini-van....just a vanity thing. )
My wife and I were looking at a new Altima SE-R, when my wife mentioned the Z looked nice and the guy offered her a test drive. She declined 'cause we couldn't get a car without a backseat for kids, but I talked her into it with the simple argument of "when is the last time someone offered you a chance to drive a car like that?".
They had one 6-speed manual on the lot, a 2004 silverstone Performance that was so dusty they had to clean the windows so they could see out of it (this was at the tail end of winter here, Z's are FUN in the snow!!!!) and they took off with the guy driving. They came back 10 minutes later to drop off the salesman and my wife and son took off for a ride.
They didn't come back for an hour.
When they pulled up my son jumped out of the car screaming, "THIS CAR ROCKS DAD!!!!". I looked at my wife and she had this very happy little grin on her face and said, "it's really sweet". She looked at me and told me we could afford it if we could live without the mini-van and the backseat. Since she works and doesn't really need a backseat to go to work we could pull it off, if I didn't mind driving the Pathfinder.
We went in and signed the papers and took her home, and we've been in love ever since.
Sorry for the babble, I'm a stay-at-home Dad who's pretty frantically swamped in real-life so I tend to socialize on technical bulletin boards about PC repair and video cards...but I got into the habit of joining up any forums that pertain to any new interests. Joining here taught me a lot so far, and I look forward to learning more....just please forgive my tendancy to post long meandering stories from time to time.
Oh, and the dealerships name/details.....I just found the window sticker (we always keep the window stickers):
