delivery date confirmed, 42 more days!
For those that have a PO for delivery at Mike Pallone Nissan in the Washington DC metro area, the delivery date has been confirmed for 6 Aug, shipping office said that all 6 cars will pull in to the dealership around 8PM on the Aug 5th and buyers can take delivery first thing Tuesday morning, Aug 6th. That's only 42 days away. Congrats to those lucky 6!!!

I'm not trying to flame, but how could that be when the Nissan countdown isn't even up until the 20th??
What's the source of the info that the shipping office got? If it's true, then that's great, I'm just a little skeptical.

I agree late Aug/Sept.
At the Blackhawk Museum presentation yesterday in NorCal they said actual production wasn't starting until July due to interior fit & finish issues the engineers still have.

Yeah, if that date is true, and DC is about as far east coast as you can get, than that's great. I'm first at my dealer, and it would be great to be driving around in early august. I'll have to start shopping for XM radios like right now!

Production definitely has started already for the few cars being delivered in August. A lot more cars are slated for a September delivery and those cars go into production in July. This is confirmed information from the manager at the Nissan dealer that I go to, who showed me his own paperwork with those dates because I was bugging him to see if I could get any earlier delivery date. My order goes into Nissan today, so I will be finding out my estimated delivery date in the next few days (though I won't be here for 2 weeks so when I get back, I will find out).

i am very upset w/ my local dealer, they told me i can get my 350z in Sept, however, i called back to the office today to change my color (Daytona Blue), they told me they r not sure about the date, Sept, Oct, or Nov. i want my 350 in Sept. If it comes out in Nov, then i only get to drive it for a month before the snow comes.

Yeah, well nobody beats the cluelessness of my dealer.
I called yesterday, and they said - and I quote: "Yeah, we think Aug/Sept sometime. I just read that in a magazine."
When I asked them if they'd talked to the area rep, or gotten any info from Nissan themselves, they said "Nope". WTF?

My dealer is also worthless. I'm pretty sure I have more information than they do about the car. They can't tell me anything. Is Nissan giving information to select dearlers or do the dealers have to go and request information? All I know is my dealer sucks!

I've tried not to get hooked on the delivery date issue because IMHO I don't think Nissan is even sure. I did talk to my dealer on Saturday for the first time since I ordered on 5/02 and he showed me the production/delivery sheet he has. The 3 Z's that were ordered in Jan/Feb show a July production and ESTIMATED Sept delivery. I am 4th(for what it's worth)on the order list and he said I will be in Oct possibly Nov. The 3 guys after me could be Thanksgiving. Just my .02 cents. On a side note he didn't know a 10th of what we know on this site. He thought the pics on nissandriven were the only ones that show the different colors. I did get a brochure out of him.
