30k won't get you there
well...... It CAN get you there for either a brief period of time until you blow your engine
or you can get there but it'll be worthless cause you won't have the proper parts to put that 600whp to the ground....
you need more like 40k I'd say to do 600whp

It can be done, just make sure you find a *highly* experienced tuner. I'd probably start with a greddy tt/intercooler (or, better yet, a custom kit), injectors, built longblock, hks fcon, cjm fuel system, aps oil pan, aps plenum, boost controller, clutch, flywheel, plugs, test pipes, true dual exhaust, cas wire, gauges, new wheels, and rubber.

here's a rough breakdown:
$8000 greddy kit and all the needed extras the kit doesn't come with
$3500-5000 standalone EMS
$12000 buil up block, new cams, ported heads, heavy duty valves/springs, sleeves, etc
$4000 wider tires/wheels
$1200-2000 LSD
$2000 carbon clutch
$2000 return fuel system and bigger injectors
$1000 misc cooling items, radiator, jethot coating
$1500 plenum, test pipes, exhaust
labor (being a little optimistic with these figures)
$2000 TT install
$2000 engine install/teardown
$1000 misc install
$2000 tax/shipping
= $42000-45000
of course that does not includes brakes, suspension, suspension control arms, vented hood, etc
if you want those things, you're probably looing at an additional $10,000

2. Voiding warranty
Sure, it might be a more fun getting there, but is it worth the risk?
Plus for $45k + $30k, assuming sentry65's prices are accurate, I'm right there at a $75k Z06.

I doubt a guy that's considering dumping $30k into his Z really cares about the warranty, and when you squeeze that much out of a vehicle by adding aftermarket parts then of course the reliability will go out the window.
If he wanted a C6 he would have probably asked about one in the C6 forums. Telling him to go buy one doesn't answer his question about the Z.

But I just wanted to let him know there's other (better and easier) options out there if for some reason he was unaware
Otherwise he'll be posting about his blown motor and Nissan not honoring warranty a few months down the road

yeah but this is going under the assumption he'd have to like the C6/Z06 or is willing to wait to get a Z06
For some reasons, C6's feel big a bulky to me. My dad has one and it's damn nice car, but I like the feel of the Z better. It might not be as capable in stock form, but it feels more nimble. I hate the C6 steering wheel. The feeling of grabbing the fat end of a baseball bat comes to mind...

I don't know how the LS7 responds to mods, but I'm not sure it will hit 600 hp at the wheels without going FI.
Bolt ons aren't exactly the best at getting the most hp out of the engine.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Nissan fan and I love the 350Z, but there's better options out there if you're aiming for massive hp.
Has anyone even hit 600 whp in a 350Z to KNOW it can be done?

yes, a few have
an issue with taking a Z06 and putting FI on it, is no one knows anything about what the engine will safely handle even if it has titanium parts etc
It already has 11:1 compression - THAT would have to change OR use race gas all the time
Are LS7 parts easy to get ahold of yet?
the C6 isn't a better choise for FI than the Z06 really. The engine is weaker and still has 10.9:1 compression...

You know what happened? It was like putting 1000hp in a VW bug.
You are gonna beeeeee disappointed.
Sorry.

I don't see how any car is necessarily "better" than another car for big hp so long as the chasis is strong enough, it's RWD or AWD, and has plenty of aftermarket support.
In the end, you're talking about spending the same amount of money give or take 10k so choose a car you like the most

Umm he just wanted the engine rebuild and TT.. Yes $30k can get you there. Sentry65 your numbers arnt exactly all correct.. Iam guessing to a do a proper engine rebuild + TT + new clutch + other lil stuff like fuel system, would be around $30k and can get you an EASY 600rwhp.

I'm pretty sure you can get 600rwhp on a $30K budget!
Look into the SGP racing packages. They have some pretty good packages and they are decently priced. I think with their most expensive package (around $11k I believe) you would have the engine strong enough for that power, then you have to spend about $6K if you go with the Greddy kit, and about $2K in engine management, and then you would be left with installation charges and some other misc parts that would build up to around $5K. That should put you right around the $30K budget. If you shop around, then you should be able to reach your goal.
