I think we really SHOULD try to post in appropriate forums instead of the general. I was excited the general forum was gone because it was forcing me to think about what I was posting...but then I found the forum at the bottom. I really hope we all really try to branch out instead of making a bee line to the bottom.

In a perfect world, I believe everything should be posted in General and then moved to the specific sections after a week or two. But this requires alot of Admin Time. So....instead of admin time,users must read nearly every section instead of just the general. I guess that's fair. At least they didn't say it was "for OUR convenience".

 

It would be cool if there was a "new post" section or something like that, and every thread would be flagged with one of the forums from a pull down menu. Then after a week or two, the thread would automatically go to the appropriate forum and all would be well. We could browse one single forum to see all the hot, new topics, and then over time everything would get sorted into its proper place for future reference.

The only thing I dislike about the new system is that in order to find something, you need to perform a search on many different forums. It's a bit of a PITA. Ah well. Still a really good site.

if EVERYTHING went into one forum, that thing would be PACKED, and filled with garbage that we dont want.

perhaps to refine the idea, do it only for modifications, seperate from general, just a main area for modifications, and flag it as performance, asthetic or skidpad, and move it along in 3 days and those that are still interested in the thread can seek it out in its new home.

but I think its obvious that general is still overused...(perhaps 2 threads out there right now that may have been better suited for the wheel forum?)
