Default should I part my car out?

If I am going to sell it? or should I try and sell it with everything on there?

basically I did an edmonds and private part was $23005 and then I added up all my mods, (not including labor) and then cut it by 50% and ended up with 33K. and I just put on a bunch of stuff including my vortech 1,500 miles ago.

oh yeah, it is 2004 Daytona Blue base 6mt with 15,000.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do, but I am thinking about an M3 so....
please advise. Thanks.

OMG Kat!!!!! Your Z is awesome, how could u sell it!!!!!

You darn women cant stick to one thing!!!

In response your question, id part it out, you will recoup soo much of your money, even if you sell your mods at seriously dicounted prices.

Isn't your vortech Z faster then an m3? or do you just want the bling factor

Both cars are really nice.

Part it out, it'll sell a lot easier too. good luck!

definitely part it out. You can't make up the cost of your parts if you include it in the car. I know it's a lot of work, but if you want to get more money out of the whole situation, then you should part it out. If you do a list on the forum, I'm sure it will all sell quickly.

If you part it out you widen your potential buyer base for the car, what you can do is see if you can presell some of the mods before taking them off and then factor in the labor to remove them to see if it is worth it, if you do it yourself then it is easy to figure out but if you have to have some else do it then some parts might not be worth removing and just let them go with the car.

if you do...don't do it for like a month. maybe i'll be able to afford the vortech then. but you really shouldn't sell your Z. it's too good looking.

the fickle finger of fate strokes .. never mind ..

You just bought the Z .. lots of mods .. some immediate changes to the mods ... tons of pix .. Vortech only 1,500 miles on the meter --->>> than wham-bam .. out of love.

Oh well .. to each her/his own ...

don't get me wrong guys, I love the car. I just have never had a car longer than a year, it is some wierd cycle with me that I have gone through ever since I started driving.... and i got the car 1st of June 04. I'm having a hard time deciding to actually do it since I just did all that stuff and have a bunch of stuff sitting here that I haven't even installed yet....

at first I was just going to keep the Z, and have the M for a daily driver, but I thought it out and just don't want that much money tied up in depreciating assets right now...:/

I've always liked the M3. and yes, I know the Z is faster than the M but it wouldn't have to be that way forever.

I'm so torn. I love the Z, but I want the M!!

Damn our similarities are scrary:

1. Daytona Blue
2. Diamond Black Volk GT-7s
3. Want to buy an M3

I am also planning on parting out the Z one day for an M3. You DEFINITELY want to part out the car and get it to as stock as possible. You will NEVER make back the money you spent selling it modified. Just the charger and the wheels will make you some good money parting them out.

Same here again. I like to buy cars and modify them till I grow bored and then I will sell them and start over with a blank canvas. It sounds like you are tired of the 350Z a little so the M3 will add a spark back to your life. I think the M3 is a step above the 350Z. I have my own steps of cars I am hoping to get:

350Z
M3
Porsche 911 Turbo
Lambo

Yes, definitely part it out. You would make more of your money back than just doing a trade in with the dealer. They always screw you anyway.

Cat, part the car out.... It'll be more trouble, but you'll definitely put more money in your pocket in the end, than selling the car as it is. Trust me, this is from first hand experience.

BTW, are you going to shop for the e46 as you mentioned in my thread? I'm currently looking at a '04 M3 with 9,000 miles on the clock, fully loaded w/navi for $49,000. Meeting the guy today to take a look at the car. Can't wait =)

I'm going through the same thing but friends talked me into sitting on the Z through the summer. I want a new Vette. You can get more out of parting out the car but its also going to cost money to take alot of that crap out. Good luck kitty-Cat! M3's are badass anyways!

Looking at how much $$ youve invested into the Z, this is quite an oxymoron. What are you at?? like around 20k in mods?
