Nissan gives 1 free alignment before 12K miles?
A friend on here says Nissan gives 1 free alignment on new vehicles anywhere within the first 12K miles. Has anyone had trouble getting this done with their Nissan dealership or is it a simple appointment?
Reason is my '05 is starting to feather at 4K miles (mine's early blooming), and I'd like to get a benchmark/documentation that I had the car realigned when new.
Did search and couldn't find anything. Quick reponse before I call them tomorrow? Thanks.

I doubt that they give 1 free alignment before 12,000 miles. I am sure, however, that if you go in and complain about your alignment that they would consider it warranty work in the first 12,000 miles, but maintaining proper alignment for good tire wear is always the responsibility of the customer just as maintaining proper engine maintenance such as oil changes.

When I took in my '04 with feathering at 14K (started at 11K), they performed an alignment and swapped the tires for free. I was warned that it would not be free again . After having the feathering re-occur at 18K, I ditched the car. I simply was not willing to be annoyed by this problem anymore, or shell out my own $$ to possibly fix the issue.
From hearing what most folks go through with feathering, it sounds like it depends what dealer you take it to, and what NNA says. Some dealers are great and will do their best to make you happy, while others will tell you that you're out of luck and have to spend some of your own $$. Seeing as you have an '05 (please check the exact build date, as stated above), you may have some trouble getting free work done, as Nissan keeps saying that 04s and later have feathering fixed . Just curious, does your '05 have the tread redesigned Potenza's?
I hope you have good luck, and please keep the rest of us posted.

For the most part, people have far better tire wear luck by switching to new rims and/or tires. Sounds like a good route for you. I'm still curious as to how the dealer will respond when you take it in, so keep us posted.

Went to Town North Nissan in Austin, and they said they will have their guys look at it, and "fix what is needed" to correct the problem that I pose is happening to my tires. They said it would be free. Appointment for next Thursday.
My only concern now is that there definitely is uneven heel/toe wear, about 1.5mm difference from tread block (heel) to tread block (toe), I wonder if they will tell me they can't see anything or it's normal just to not do the work. You can definitely see it and feel it, but it's not obvious to the untrained eye. But put a few more thousand miles, and it'll be prominent.
