Argh!! Transmission/Clutch issues?
Alright, I need some help on this one. It's a 2005 6MT with 5600 miles on it. I was driving down the freeway in traffic doing no more than 65 MPH when the car starts to act up. The car starts to buck (only way to describe) in 6th gear. I look down at the Tachometer and the revs are bouncing between 500 and 3500. I was in traffic and had to move to the side of the road so I tried to downshift to a lower gear to see if it would clear up. No such luck, it continued to buck until I got off the road and put it in neutral. Once I got the car into neutral, I let my foot off the clutch and the car sputtered and died. I made some phone calls to the dealership to see what was going on and after being on hold for 10 minutes, I decided to start it, put it in reverse, backup and then try to drive. Once I did that, I was able to drive it off of the freeway. The bucking was gone but the clutch still felt like stepping on a marshmellow. Once off the freeway, I was able to contact the dealership and have it towed there. Now it waits at the dealership to be looked at. Has anyone had any type of issues like this or maybe an idea of what may have happened.
Please if you only have a dumb a$s or sarcastic reply keep it to yourself, I don't need to read it.

sounds more like engine management or some electrical problem. if it was a clutch or tranny issue i don't think the car would die when you put it in neutral.

Yeah the clutch and tranny really play no role when the car is in neutral and the clutch is not engaged. I guess you might have a hydroulic problem with the clutch which might have caused the pedal feel to change and might not be allowing it to fully grab or fully release the flywheel. Still shouldn't affect the car in neutral though.

Just got off the phone with the Service Writer. They are saying it's the crank sensor. I don't know exactly what it supposed to do but it's what they say caused the issues.
Thanks for the ideas.

I was in a parking lot one time, pulled out of my spot, and noticed no matter how much gas i put on, it wouldnt go anywhere. So i looked down at my rpm's, notice it says its constantly slipn and traction control is off.. iam like wtf? So i turn it off, let it sit there for a min, turn it back on and was fine.
Our cars are weird. haha
