Default Warranty issues after 36k miles

Anyone ever tried to take their car in to get some warranty work done after 36k miles???
I just bought the car and it's at 36,300 so i went up to Nissan today to see if they'd hopefully fix a few things, non mechanical. So she scheduled me an appt. and said that they'd have to look at the car and then ask Nissan if they'd pay for it. But if not then i'm stuck with the $45 diagnostic fee.
The only things needing replaced is the mechanism in the hatch won't unlock when you press the button the first time, and the steering wheel and shifter **** are showing unusal wear on them.
If they won't fix them because it's out of warranty then that's fine and i understand. But i don't want to have to pay that diagnostic fee for nothing.

What is there to diagnose or get a diagnostic from? That $45 is normally for using a computer diagnostic tool. The hatch not popping on the first try is a common problem and there is a TSB for it, but members have come up with ways to fix it. As for the unusual wear on the steering wheel and **** I don't think there is anychance they will do anything about that other than allow you to purchase new ones.

The hatch not opening on the 1st press has a TSB. The technician you hand the keys to should be able to stand there while you demonstrate. No diagnostic necessary.

As for the wheel and stick, I think you're out of luck. Wear-and-tear. Since you just bought the car, maybe you can get them to give you a deal on repairing or replacing them though.

I got a new burnt orange drivers seat because it was wearing out after only 2 years...free of charge. I would just ask them if it's covered before commiting.

The $45 was to diagnose the problem with the hatch. But if theres a TSB then they should already know about it.
And i know that Ford will replace anything that wears out within the warranty period, including the steering wheel. So i figured i'd see what they say.
On my steering wheel it's both the leather and the aluminum trim is pitting or something. So i don't know how common that is???

Ok i went to the dealer yesterday. They are going to fix the hatch and replace the shifter **** under warranty. But they said that Nissan denied the steering wheel for some reason???? The exact same thing that was happening to the shifter **** was happening on the steering wheel but they won't replace both? I'm guessing it's a price thing and they just don't want to be out of a lot of money.
So anyone know of the cheapest place to buy an OEM steering wheel, or at least the aluminum trim for it?
