Default 350z like an S2000?

How can I make a Z handle like an S2000? Possible?

Maybe a tighter suspension?

Tighter suspension and go fully carbon fiber panels, . If you lighten it a thousand pounds it might handle more like an S2000. I've seen the Amuze all CF Z and it handles like a bastard...

For stock cars, is there a big difference in handling?

I don't think it's a HUGE difference but the weight is a definite disadvantage for the Z. It carries it well, but the lighter weight and better power/weight ratio helps the S2000 be a faster car in a windy track or road. If you've ever seen any of the Best Motoring DVD's they have Z's and S2000's racing all the time on those and they're always pretty close. The Z seems to be fighting off the S2000 and the S2000 seems to be always pushing the Z.

Yeah, but if you lighten the Z 1000 pounds it will OUT handle an S2000, . I was exaggerating but it is heavier...

hmmm what can you really do to lighten the Z by 200-300 lb? A removing the spare and a carbon hood and trunk might knock off a few pounds but how do I hack a big chunk of weight out of the car?

If you had an unlimited budget you could go with the full Amuze CF kit (doors, fenders, bumpers, hatch, hood, everything, I think it's like $7K, ). Or you could strip out the inside, take out the AC, take out the spare, take out the passenger seat, take off all the plastic parts inside the car, change your windows to lexan, . You can either go full race and strip it or spend a ton and go CF (which looks awesome).

being a former owner of s2000, i can say it takes corners more freely than the Z, but the Z has better grip.....in the s2000 you can lose control real easy if u try to pull a drift....so i dont mind the extra weight on the Z

yeah it sucks, the S2K is lighter and can probably turn a little bit better. But one pro of the extra weight is that our car is more meaty and within a crash better.

I don't know the statistics, but i'd rather be in the z in a crash than in an s2k.

How about speed wise, I heard 1/4 mile the Z will take the s2k, but at higher speeds its s2k all the way Is this true?

at high speeds 350z will destroy s2k since we have better aerodynamics and more power.

The S2k is a more driver-dependent car than the Z. When it's kept on full boil it can keep up with a Z in the 1/4...but in the average person's hands I doubt it can keep up. The opposite is true on a twisty road where the S2k has go-cart like handling and the Z takes more skill to hustle through tight corners. At freeway speeds the Z should win IMO.

If you want your Z do 1.0g at skidpads, then you need to change wheels/tires, sway bars and LSD. That can kill a S2K.

I would love to do that some day.

I used to have an s2000 and when i did i raced my friends stock auto Z beat it by 1 car on 0-60 then he started to pull past 100 mph and kept pulling...

now i have and 05 350z in 6M I feel the Z is a lot faster car than the s2000
