I do believe the Z to be one of the best handling "affordable" cars. Right out of the box.

Now that I've add a few things.. it's a complete handling monster and can stop on a dime.

What did you add. i was thinking a tighter suspension would give it less roll and the extra weight of the Z would make it feel like less of a sedan and more like an S2K.

Regarding handling and brakes; I've added Zeal Function V6 coilovers and Endless Brake kit.

I'm going to add stiffer sways and call the suspension dept. finished. Still waiting for my ARC strut tower bar to arrive.

According to the simple mods here, the Z can handle 1.0g on skidpad. That better than most sportscars, S2000 included. For reference MT tested Enzo (0.96g), Carrera GT (0.99g)and Ford GT (0.91g). Stock Z is at 0.88g on skidpad.

http://motortrend.com/roadtests/coup...ro/index5.html

Thru slalom Z was at 71.8 mph, compare that to Enzo 71, Ford GT 71.8, Carrera GT 73.2 mph.

If it's like the RS*R S2000; you won't be able to see any CF unless you look at it from the side (ie: layer)> as it's painted.

You will never get the Z as light as the S2K unless you literally strip it down to bare floors and one seat, which is rediculous... but add say Nismo suspension and sway bars and you will outhandle the S. My dad has an 04 S2K, and while it does feel tighter and have better turn-in, its not leaps and bounds over the Z by any means.

nothing wrong with a S2000 imo, some people love the low end torque and some people love high revving engines. I love my Z but I still miss my old 92 hatch with a b16.

i love my Z, but yea i dont understand why some people talk so much sh*t about the s2k. it's a great car. lots of fun to drive even without the massive torque like the Z. if someone made a car mixing the best qualities of the two cars (light weight, incredible shifter, high rev in the s2k - larger engine, massive torque of the Z) you'd have an incredible car.

easy weight mods are aftermarket exhaust 20lbs, spare removal 30lbs (i think), dry cell battery 10-20 lbs, and rims 20-28 lbs savings. Your never going to get 300lbs unless you start making the z into a track only beast bc it wont be a streetable car with the ac out and carbon fiber everything blah blah. Id say that the ones i listed are the best weight mods without impacting any day to day pleasure. Just have a AAA membership if you leave your spare at home, you might need it.

I had a friend that installed the CF hood on the 350. He said the stock aluminum weighed less when he put them on the scale.

A couple of CF parts may be a bit lighter, but unless you go all out, you probably won't notice a difference. Just do it for looks.
