1991--You should not have told him about the fat, ugly girlfriend... If the dumbass was stupid enough to trade his Z for the Evo, now he'll prolly dump his beautiful girl and go trolling for you know what.

Outfitted with JE forged pistons and Carillo rods, the 3.5L had its compression dropped to 10.3:1 in order to allow higher boost levels; and its rev limit raised to 8,000rpm to help keep the boost pressurized throughout the curve. A Nismo R-Tune camshaft, valve job and mild porting of the exhaust ports by Headgames are also features of this build-up.

Last year, the car was set up with two different nitrous setups – a 300 shot and 375 shot that helped the team go through two engine blocks. This season, however, reliability issues prompted them to switch over to a Power Enterprise twin turbo system, which features a PE exhaust manifold, 2.25-inch down-pipe and modified air-to-water PE intercooler. The wastegate is internal, but the HKS blow-off valve is not.

A large 75mm Accufab throttle body translates the air into additional power with high-flowing Bosch Motorsport injectors transporting loads of additional fuel from an ATL 15 gallon fuel cell. A 240gph Weldon fuel pump and Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and filter help out with the task.

Engine management duties are performed by a MoTeC M880 system that gives control over the fuel and ignition as well as closed loop wideband oxygen control and datalogging for a number of inputs. Before Ioannou, who knows MoTeC systems like the back of his hand, came on board, the team found tuning a challenge.

“We feel we’re doing pretty good considering we’re the only ones running this V6 right now,” defended Rubio.

Drivetrain upgrades consist of a custom made Unorthodox Racing five pound aluminum flywheel that works in conjunction with a Tilton multi-plate metallic clutch and the factory 6-speed. A Nismo LSD with a Nismo finned differential cover helps distribute the power equally to the rear wheels.

Tein Flex coilovers all around provide ample adjustability for fine tweaks on race days thanks to the EDFC system. Weld 15x9-inch aluminum rims house BFGoodrich 275/50/15 drag radials on the rear axles while the fronts are 15x3.5-inch skinnies with 26x5-15 Mickey Thompson front runners. BFGoodrich came on board as a sponsor in June.

this thread is stupid. Two different cars (one is a 4 door rally sedan and one is a two seater RWD gt sports coupe..... and drop top ) Its subjective because some people would rather drive a Z and some people would rather drive an Evo. No big deal, don't let this troll get to you. Enjoy your new Evo, its a fast car and im sure you will enjoy it.

I'm looking for my next car. 350Z, EVO, STi, and 2002-2003 Vette Z06 are on my list. Evos are very cool cars!

Best of luck with your new EVO. You will kick azz at auto-z events with that car!

if i wanted a turboed car that had awd id maybe consider the evo but the fact that its a mitsu would deter me. instead id rather take a g35x sedan and twin turbo it and build the block and lighten it up a lil bit and throw on a nice bodykit. maybe put on a spoiler or wing if i really wanted one that badly. but a twin turboed fully built g35x id be willing to bet would rape a mitsu evo and youll get waaay more looks blowing by ppl in a g35 than an evo. and yet its still a classy enough car that if you dont have a parkbench on the back of it you can take it out to a nice retaurant and not look like an out of place teenager. just my opinion but id rather have the g35x

Hmm Dynoflash already made 744 whp on a built evo motor. But locally my friend Mike with a GT35R Evo is making 500+ on race gas here on stock internals. Almost 30lbs of boost. You obviiously never race with fast cars. DSM are defaintely power makers. The Z cant exceed 400whp safely at all. Blown motors left and right. Dont even try to win this one as far as performance platform.

Still fail to see the point. You keep referring to cars you don't have or mods you
haven't made. Potential is nothing if it is never realized. Why don't you repost
when you have personally reached those numbers. I won't hold my breath.

Prove to us the true potential of your "stock internals" since they mean so much
to you. Buying a fast car doesn't mean you know how to drive it... rookie.

how much is it going to cost to get an evo to mid 400 hp? itll cost lets say... around 10 grand on a Z with an aps twin turbo and they can run mid 11'z all day, as there is a Z in jersey doing so rite now. There hasnt been a single blown turbo on the APS yet... so I dont understand where ur saying platform this platform that... 450 hp is easily done on a stock block if properly tuned and all the essential parts are present. Once the block is built... the possibilities are all over the place. I mean there is a 1000rwhp+ 350z sitting in long island rite now running 8's... platform my ***... gimme a stock evo and ill rape him all day long as long as we run alittle past the quartermile... i just eat them up top end anyways.

So the past almost year this VQ35DE TT'd that I keep showing you making 1400WHP is doing what then, exactly?

So, you say,

, but somehow a VQ35DE is making 1000 more WHP than you say it can. Umm, ok? Apparently the guys using this motor failed to get tuning advice from you?

lol all these guys with Z's getting all mad. Its just a simple post.

Evo is better than a Z for racing/performance.

Z is better for pulling *****es and a more comfortable and awesome looking ride.

All of you who got upset are pathetic losers. All I stated was 400+ hp on stock internals is easily achievable on an Evo where it is not on a Z. I'm sorry all of you want to continue to argue over and over. But the sad thing is that in this REAL world....the Evo is dominant as far as racing is concerned off or on road. Just because there are a "few" fast Z's....you need to look at the numbers. Theres so many fast Evo's....and very few Z's. And YOUR CAR IS MUCH MORE COMMON. I drive everywhere and I see a Z EVERYWHERE. Moms and Dads driving them everywhere. I had a semi-quick Z. Made almost 400whp. I know more than alot of you with your stock Z's and your peice of **** popchargers. Now I have a have an Evo making similar numbers. I have had BOTH cars so I am making an honest judgement.

Oh and P.S. to the guy obsessed with the 1000+ hp Z

Wow, coming from a Lancer owner, that doesn't really mean a whole lot.

At least I can read and not yammer on about how a Z cannot do this, cannot do that, get facts presented which refute whatever you said yet, you ignore that too.

Now, the third grade called, they want their insult back.
