I met an Evo owner the other night...he seemed like a pretty cool guy. His car seemed really nice, and he owned me in the canyons. But SweetsilverZ is not helping the Evo owner image, I agree.

I raced 2 Evos last night. beat on both of them. they both couldnt drive though. there launchs were pretty bad. one guy said he cant launch over 3k cause his clutch is already going. and his tranny is Fuc*ed. u gotta love those mitsu trannys.

I have to admit, I take it personally in some weird way when people come here and say comments pseudo-bashing the Z. I work/worked really hard to get my car and take pride in owning one. I know its not the best car in the world, but I certainly don't get on other car forums of autos I used to own and say, "I used to have a ________ and it was a piece of $hit."

 

I am not as hip as some on this board. I had to do a web search to even see what a Evo was. Looks like a Hundai Sonata to me. Unless you are 18 and fresh out of high school I can not understand why you would want one. Just my personal opinion

 

Glad you guys think that's funny. I thought it was pretty fitting myself. And to be honest, every time I see and EVO, I have to repeat that phrase to myself to keep from trying to handle two car paymets.

I can just see the card now....The front would have a big Orca-girl beached across the hood of the EVO, smiling really big so you can see all of her 5 teeth.

Ok...i think everyone needs to calm down. I also think that Silver should just keep quiet and buzz off. There is no purpose in this thread. You come to a Z forum and talk smack...what do you think would happen to you but get flamed? First off, the mitsu evo is not a better performance car. Its a box on wheels that the dealer decided to soup-up for many $$$ more. I mean...come on... How much psi does that this push stock?? 18? 19? For the extra money you spent, Id put FI in my Z, run minimal boost and still rape an evo. In the end, its all the same. The Z looks sooo much more sexy and sleek than a box on wheels with a huge disgusting spoiler. I sure hope that you are a 16 year old because i couldnt imagine someone older driving such a toyish car. Well...whatever. You came to this forum, posted a flaming thread and you get flamed. Good job proving a non-existant point.

 

No offense, but I wouldn't even buy a microwave from Mitsubishi. I have 2 friends with Evo's, and it is definately a car that needs frequent maintenence.

 

Honestly i love the 350z and i think the evo is okay and all but both are not that fast. Honestly they are both 14 sec cars if u think about it. Sure it is true that the evo has the awd to propell its self to low 13s with a good driver. A roll shows that the evo is equal to low 14 sec car. I mean come one its not fast its pretty quick just like the Z. I honestly think the evo could have been better. It running 18 psi stock and still is only trapin at about 100-103 now thats sad. The evo does handle better and its and idiot proof car. The Z sticks to the rwd platform that a true sports car should be. People say that they are good to modd i would say for a turbo car its pretty weak to modd. It cant even beat a stock supra for cryin out loud. A guy i no has a full bolt on and cammed evo and ran a 12.5 at only 108. My brother took out his stock supra and beat it from a 60-120 pull. All im tryin to say is that people give the evo to much credit just becasue of it low 13 second times slips while they should realize that trap speed of a car signifies power.

Plain and simple stock to stock the EVO is a better performer. I was looking at both but I decided on the Z as 1) I got a better deal on it and 2) Its way more pimp.

If I could afford two cars in the 30K range the EVO wold be my weekend ride for sure as the car is a blast to drive and leaves you with a giant smile on your face.

Did you get the IX or just the VIII ? because if I was you I would have waited for the IX

 

He didn't get dumb because he bought an EVO, I think he was sad example of car enthusiast when he owned the Z(or any other car for that matter) as well... it's one of those constantly frustrated breeds of owners who think skill, class and performance comes automatically when you buy the car. Like people who buy porsches and instantly think they are great drivers, great persons, great lovers, etc.... it's called tiny pecker syndrome, they are constantly trying to compensate for their various lackings.. attention included.
