Default Haven't noticed this before...

Pulling the bumper cover this weekend, I notice a huge gap between the passenger-side headlight assembly and the fender. Guess the combination of the fender liner in place and the superblack paint hides it. Even still, I can't believe I've never noticed this before. Same on the driver-side, with slightly less gap. Pic shows shop lamp under fender.

Anyone else have poor fitment like this?

I've seen a few cars like this, but mostly with aftermarket bumpers. I guess the fact that you didn't notice it makes it not so important.

Just checked mine today, and i didn't see any gap! See if there are any loose screws around.

that gap is ridiculous....totally unacceptable, imo....
on my Z, i noticed that the hood/fender/bumpers did not fit together evenly, so i took it to the dealer to compare it with a few other cars on the lot...i found that there were a few other Z's that had these fitment issues. pretty minor, really....you wont be able to tell that its off unless you are really looking for the flaws like i was. ok, so i accepted the fact that the Z is not hand built like lamborghini or something....besides it's only a couple 1/10 of an inch....
in your case, "dgz", that gap is very obvious and unacceptable

I didn't notice this before until I removed and then replace my bumper (that after removing and reinstalling my headlamps). I tried to get these gaps evened out as much as I could... got it close as I could...

Humm...I did have my headlights replaced under warrenty due to cracking a little while back. Maybe there's some more adjusting I can do to make 'em fit better. Bothers me that all that water is getting in there behind the light sockets...

I know what I'll be doing tonight.

ill see if my fitment is like that
The bumper cover removal isn't a big deal at all. Here's the quick and dirty of what I did...

Get the front end it in the air and remove the screws holding the cover (on the bottom of the car) to the lip of the bumper cover. Next, remove the three snaps and two screws from the fender liner. Pull the liner back at the top and you'll see two screws that hold the bumper cover to the fender, and another screw (or two, can't remember) that holds both of these to the body - remove these. Next, remove the six snaps at the top of the bumper cover (between the headlights) and pull the whole cover forward. That's it!

I believe there's also a post somewhere detailing the process.

Good luck!
Dave

Ok, just got back from a dealership in the area (unrelated to this) and looked over about a dozen or so Zs. All of them, with the exception of one, had gaps between the fenders and headlamps of varying thicknesses.
