Unhappy Front end fender bender. Your opinion needed

Hi guys, today on my way back from the beach I typically got hit in the rear and when escaping to the shoulder got jammed up on the Maxima up front.
Neither front nor the rear bumper cover got seriously damaged but it’s all visible and I want it gone ASAP,
Since I never came across situation like this I need your help. How could I use this situation to get the body kit I wanted and have offender’s insurance pay for it?
How to play it to get something more out of it????
Thanks,

Andre

That depends on what insurance company you have. If the repair cost is less than your deductible, you'll have to flip the entire bill. Some insurance companies will only pay once the bill passes your deductible.

Alright,
… someone advised me already to act like I have no insurance at all…
I’m still a victim of that fender bender and I am allowed to call to offenders insurance either I have my own or not,
and tell them to send me for an estimate… etc etc…
So basically what I need to know is the dealer price for both bumpers and rough estimate of professional paint job,

My advice is play it straight & get your car fixed.

I'm not a fan of gaming the system.

Just get your car fixed and work for the money to get a kit. That`s what is right, and that`s what I would do.

There's nothing wrong with getting the money for repairs and using it on something else as Clayton said... but...

I don't know for sure, but "acting like you don't have insurance" sounds to me like some pretty bad advice...

When I got in an accident on my bike my insurance paid for aftermarket parts to replace the OEM, the aftermarket were cheaper though. Ins will pay upto the OEM price after that its your butt so go ahead if thier is a kit your eyeing get with your body shop have them order it and the ins will pay for upto the OEM price and you pay over, if its less then your saving your ins company $$$. Its not gaming the system its just getting your car fixed.

I really didn’t want to sound like a gamer but last year I was involved in something bit worse for the car [maxima] in Florida and I ended up getting check from insurance for $17.
Right now I’m really going nuts… one day my z is babied, showroom condition plus all the money spent for add-ons, driven for 4K miles,
and the next day rear bumper cover is all messed up bended out of shape with broken clips and front all scratched out… I’m just afraid to call my insurance and after all get an estimate for $517 minus $500 deductible…

…so like you see, I’m just trying to learn from it and avoid that worse case scenario
