Appreciate the value of financing a Z at 0%-5% APR with exceptional brakes already equipped or buying $4000 brakes on credit (most people) and labor. Only to achieve comparable times.

is it just me or is the article inconclusive?

they say they didn't pick the right combo of front and rear brakes on the stoptech because of the rear bias

but the stoptechs did stop better than the brembos

I went with a used 03 Performance and I have the xenons, the homelink, the LSD, VDC (which sucks) the aero kit and diffusers and I got it all w/ about 16K miles for about 25 or so a year ago. Which at the time wasn't too bad. Any ways, good luck!

I have the Track model and am happy with my decision. People notice and will ask me if it is Track model. Think to yourself, "how often do I see a Track model Z?" There are ten times as many Touring models on the road and love the rarity. The wheels look very good IMHO and love how that wheel is exclusive.

Understanding that I have a certain prejudice here (I own a '03 DB Track) when I looked at the specs, I decided on the track because I didn't want the extra weight of a nav system, heated seats, leather, electric seats, amps, etc...and the Track wheels, while not as wide as I wanted, were lightweight Ray's Forged Aluminum wheels (less unsprung weight) and the Brembo brake package appealed to me as I have experience with those brakes and they perform very, very well.

I read with interest the other posts regarding Z standard equipment vs. Stop Tech brakes. I have a friend with a very fast, highly modded Z32TT. He is now looking for a better braking system and most of us are telling him to go with Stop Tech based on some testing done last year by, I believe, Sport Z magazine.

I digress, however. I bought the Track model because it's light weight, has the best brakes offered in the Z line and is a good platform for modding with some very important parts already installed.

Just my .02
