Default Shift **** Burns!

Has anyone come up with a nifty way to cover their shift **** to keep it from getting hot enough to burn, after sitting in the sun all day? I was thinking about taking a golf club cover, like a small iron cover or something and placing it over the ****. Lemme know if anyone has a good solution!

Mine only burns on the shift pattern on top and ont he bottom silver connecter. This is in 100+ degree weather. Just holding onto the black part worked for me.

I know this is MF obvious ..but..getting a windshield sunshade would help block some of the direct sunlight hitting the shift ****. Another item I've used is the "Auto Fan"...it fits on top of the window...has a solar panel that fits outside the window and powers a fan that helps circulate and cool air inside the cabin....Both are inexpensive and can help reduce inside temp. of the car.

Or....just cover the MF up with a small towel, like errybody else is saying.

Exactly...

$6... Foil/silver type... Keep the whole car cool and keep the dash and interior from fading.

funny thing. I have a windshield cover and 35% tint but it still burns. Only remedy was just to cover the shifter.

I just thought someone would have thought of some really cool way to deal with this common problem. Thanks all! Back to the window covers and hats for me.

Well I've made a similar thread before. I have the nismo titanium shift ****
which BURNS like hell.
I have 20% tint all around cept for front windshield, and putting the cap over the **** don't work here on California heat.
So I bought a shift **** cover, and it STILL is hot when I take it off to drive

Sorry, I was in a bad mood yesterday...guess it showed, huh?

As far as the "Auto Fan"....it can be found on eBay...actually works very well...keeps the hot air from building up...the car won't be totally free of heat...but it'll be more comfortable inside. Around $5.00, I think.
