Default Question for you speed mongers with removed limiter

Does the digital speedo read above 159 with the limiter removed? I don't know many of you may have gone about 160 but I'm sure some of you have.

I have no idea but at that speed there is no way its very accurate after 150. You will need a gps speedo if you want to get accurate readings.

I thought the ECU flash raised the rev limit, not the top speed limit?

it also removes the electronic limit on speed... a stock Z has to be gear limited around 165 anyway

I've heard 175 stockish it can pull to gearing wise. I'm guessing with reflashed extra 200 revs it could be 176-177. I just had it up to 150+ and it felt like it had a lot left. Next time I'm on the turnpike I'll see how much rev I have left at 160.

when i was at 162, i had about 1200-1500 rpms left....i read in another thread that someone calculated the gear ratios and concluded that it could hit a little over 180 mph....but who knows.

damn I guess I am wrong... I have never taken mine over 120ish and I have only hit 120 once and most likely will never do that again.

yeah with stock suspension, the car will feel wishy washy as hell past 120 or so, with the upgraded suspension, those speeds are easily controllable

I have noticed that, most people say its solid around 120-130, but it didnt feel that way on the road...looks like another 1500 is getting spent

yeah the suspension is probably one of my favorite mods on the Z...aside from the charger, the suspension made it so much more fun to drive...tons more confidence in the corners...i recommend the JIC FLT-A2's

Wishy Washy past 120? I'd totally have to disagree. Felt smooth and completely in control straight up to 159 totally stock suspension. Car felt like it was made to go cross country all day long at that speed... its a great feeling.

i meant wishy washy when you made a move to pass or a slight turn...but in a straight line it wasnt too bad, on a turn or a pass you can def notice the difference between the stock and upgraded suspension

you don't have to remove any limiter to reach 158mph. (255kmh=158mph) That's totally stock.
