G35 Coupe an option???
OK, I LOOOVE the Z...always have. I made my choice for it long ago, but seeing the numbers and the disappointment with these numbers has got me thinking twice. I mean, I know the G35 coupe won't outperform the Z, but the reason I'm rethinking this is because I believe the g35c will be much less common than the z (I visited my local Infiniti dealer and there were only 2 deposits vs. the 50 for the Z right next door).
Also, I've always been a man of practicality, and boy is the g35c look good being practical.
Frankly, I think some of the exterior is nicer than the z and the interior is classier than the z, which it is supposed to be. True, it's not as "racer" as the z, but after the disappointment, I'm seriously considering moving out of my z into its more suave and comfortable appearing brother the g35coupe.
Anybody else feeling this way??

I have to admit that I questioned getting the Z instead of the g35 coupe only because of the "back seat" (if you want to call it that). It was difficult to buy a 2-seater when I have two young kids (no, no, no -- not that I'd be driving 'em around, just that if something happens where I *need* to pick 'em up, I couldn't do it).
In the end I pre-ordered the Z anyway. I'll see how it goes...

About 4 posts down i posted a topic called "Nissan Marginalizing its 350z customers" .. this is exactly what i see coming. I think many Z owners are going to change sides before this thing hits the fan.
The G35c seems like a more mainstream car with its backseats then the Z does. How can they expect the Z to sell 30,000 units to the general public and make the G35coupe a limited production.
It doesnt make any sense.

I think the G35c will sell more than you think. The Z has heritage which is why people were interested in a new Z car even before the first concept pics were shown. The enthusiasts will not be the ones buying the G35c like with the 350Z. I think once the coupe is availble many people who were planning to get a BMW 330Ci will walk into an Infiniti showroom and be blown away with how much better the G35c is. Just like Infiniti will sell alot of G35 sedans although they didn't have 6500 pre-sold before it came out. I am sure some people who would have bought a 350Z will end up getting a G35c instead but mostly it will be sold to people randomly car shopping and fall in love with it.
well, i don't agree on the G35c being uncommon, by considering twice u'll realize it's another low price high quality car. C'mon man, it's not limited production, how did u get the fact that the G35c will be less common than the 350Z? In my opinion this is not a point to concern just by looking at the preorder number, i bet G35c will be as common as a CL Type S. well if u really want a uncommon car buy a lambo or ferrari, or maybe a mclaren? as a matter of fact none of the car is suitable for u at under the 35,000 price range if u hold that kind of thought to buy a car.
And second, i think G35c and 350Z is a totally different kind, as i assume that they have different kind of customers too, G35c is more like a family car that people don't like to drive sedan and they want to have a 2 doors "Sporty-like" car. On the other hand, 350Z is a true sport car and has a more aggressive appearance and people who buy it are more on the young side(at least in their heart)
I don't know y people keep contrasting 2 cars when they have a totally different market.........

No WAY
350Z = SPORTS CAR
G35 Coupe = Sporty Coupe
Last time I checked - totally different animals. I admit that I have not seen many pictures of the G35 although what I have seen have been really boring - none of the unique elements of the Z.

I agree...I think the G35c will sell many once it hits the streets. The same way the Lexus SCs did in the '90s, you may see the coupe's sales take off. It's all about the value. The G35c won't cost any more than my touring Z and image is a lot to many.

I had a hard time choosing btw G35c & 350z awhile ago (4 seats vs 2 seats), and at last i couldn't stand the beauty of the 350z and chose the 350z~ I think there will be as many G35c as the 350z, cause alot of ppl want 4 seats.

The G35 will have the same engine (or very close), transmission, suspension design, tires, steering etc. I think it will perform every bit as good as the Z. Its not "sporty" its a performance sedan or coupe for serious drivers just like the Z.

My jaw dropped when I saw the G35 Sports Coupe, it's much better looking than the 350Z, and I like the 350Z alot. The people at Nissan are very sharp, they made both of them very appealing to two markets, and only staggered the release dates by 90 days, I think come this time next year, you'll see just as many G35 Coupes as you do 350Z, they are both amazing cars. If I had to pick, my choice would be the G35C.
