Default Why no key lock on the passenger side?

The drivers door has a keyed lock but not the passenger side, why?

On the Z I was playing around with, the remote door opener would not unlock the passenger door, only the drivers door. Is this the way it is suppose to work, that you can only open the passenger door by getting into the drivers seat and leaning over and opening it by hand?

The other thing I noticed is that if you lean over to unlock the passenger door, get out of the car on the drivers side and close the drivers door, that it automatically locks the passenger door before you get a chance to walk around to open the passenger door but it doesn't lock the drivers door automatically like the passsenger side, it stays unlocked.

WTF?

Oh :-D

So how come no keyed passenger door then?

I guess the keyed drivers door is more or less there just as a backup in case the battery goes dead in the remote or the car?

Ok I gets it now thanks
