Default What Octane Gas are you using?

Well, with gas prices getting so high I have to find out if it is really necesary to use 93+ octane gas. I heard about some News study that revealed that it's not really any better. My Z is stock w/ the exception of an JWT pop charger.
So I was curious what you guys are running.

93 all the way. The price difference here between that and 89 is around 10 cents. On a tank of gas (usually about 13-14 gallons) you are talking $1.40. Not worth screwing with it for that kind of savings. You save $3 is you go 87, but you'll have to spend that much in ear plugs to drown out all the engine knocking you'll be getting....

Still and no matter how high it gets, it will always be Chevron Premium. Nothing's too good for "chata" (my Z).

I'm in CA...we have 91 octane...and it's expensive. I don't give a ****, I pay for it. It's a sportscar, this is what you need to do to maintain it.

I figured this much, but wanted to make sure. In all my Z's I never used anything less but wanted to know if there was any truth to that news show. However, in my pathfinder I have used 87 and didn't notice any difference.
Anyway, thanks.

Alot of people have been talking about that stupid study.....if you were to use it...chances are your gas mileage would be worse because the computer would retard the timing to prevent knocking. Hence gas mileage would probably go down and you actually be worse off.

92 or 93 depending on the gas station. It's a small price to pay to keep my car in good shape, .

Only have 91 octane here, but not all 91 octane here is created equal.

Best mileage (27 hwy) is on Shell VPower, only slightly less (26 hwy) on Arco Premium. I have tried another local station here, but the mileage was horrible (19 hwy!) and ended up overall being more expensive even though the price per gallon was about 0.10/gal cheaper.

I bet your Pathfinder didn't have a 10.3:1 CR either.
