Mine is a daily driver as well. I'm also of the opinion that the car was built to be driven..and that's what I shelled out all that cash for. I'm over 17k miles now and add a few thousand a month. But that doesn't bother me because that is the Z's purpose in life....to get driven and give me a little enjoyment along the way.

I love my Z but not as a daily driver it’s just not practical and is annoying in traffic, I wouldn't recommend it as a daily driver. I have a second car and would recommend you keep a second car especially to avoid racking up pointless miles like going to work or the store.

I bought a Frontier just to make it my daily driver, sure I miss driving the Z, but I love not trashing my Z. Now, I can keep and enjoy my Z, and only put fun miles on it.

Never been in winter with RWD and that much power/torque. How is the 350 in wintry conditions? Get stuck alot? Light snow, medium snow, alot of snow(proly undrivable)?

I just bought an 05 Touring with a 6 speed... now I am having to decide if I should keep my Pathfinder (and the extra insurance that goes with it) or sell it and drive the Z to and from work.

The Pathfinder is also a manual, 130k mileage... wife's upset about having to shuffle her suv along with my two rides...
How much stop and go traffic do you ride through? If its just highway travel, the Z will probably work. I use a van as my daily commuter because it take regular gas and i work in DC.

Would only drive it to work if I had a safe place to park it....but I work
at home...my Z is still a daily driver though, lest I go crazy having it sit
in my garage.....(3000 miles since Memorial Day)

I use mine to commute about 500 miles/week. Sucks that I am putting this many miles on so quick, but I love driving compared to my old Jetta.(except at the gas station)

It is holding up just fine although I am thinking it was a mistake not to get the paint protection film. Too many chips already, I think I will just repaint the front bumper at about 50k and then put the paint protection on there.

I think it largely depends on where you live, if you're living in a place where there is a lot of snow and crappy weather/driving conditions, then I'd stick in the 'summer car' group. If you're in sunny Florida then it's not so bad, but you have to deal with rain too but at least it's not snow.

I have a 97 Wrangler as my "beater" per se. It's alot of fun on those 2 days a year it actually snows here in SC! Actually they are pretty nice for "utility", have pretty cheap insurance, and seems like they'll last forever. I've got 120,000 miles on mine (bought used 3 yrs ago w/ ~95,000) and it drives like new.

As far as driving the Z or the Jeep...my equation is pretty simple: Less than say 30-40% chance rain, drive the Z. More than 40% chance rain, drive the Jeep.

Mine is a daily driver for the time being. Even with the turbo, it's a good reliable car.

I'm getting my old truck back next week, so I can stop worrying about taking the Z on the street every day. People trying to mess up my car are about to give me a heart attack.

Mine's a daily driver. But, for the most part, I'm the only one who enjoys using it in that manner. Most of my passengers hate the ride quality because it's so jarring. And to think that someday, I'm going to throw a stiffer suspension in there...

I love to put pointless miles on my Z, it makes them not feel so... pointless. Low miles for resale is for suckers, cars are not an investment, they are a consumable, and I want to consume every preciouses moment of excitement I can out of my Z!

If snow was a factor I would have bought an STi.

As long as you have one hauler (sounds like the wife has an SUV) than you are good to go.

As long as you've got proper winter tires, the car drives as well as any other rwd vehicle... EXCEPT it's pretty low to the ground, so the chance of getting stuck in deep snow is probably pretty good. I just wait for the plows to go by then it's all good. If you want more info, there's a lot of threads on this.

my Z is my daily driver for the next 2 weeks. I hate it. 1. I don't like putting the miles on it. 2. It takes the fun out of driving a car that you bought as a toy. 3. It's less comfortable than my buick.
