Just got my z ... but it will be daily driver for me as well --- average 30,000 to 35,000 per year. Rain, snow, cold, mud, city, country, you name -- I drive in it. I've tried the 2 cars thing before -- but it just doesnt work for me. I LOVE to drive -- and so -- I want to drive the car that I enjoy -- even if its a run to the corner store durring a blizzard. When I get a car -- I just figure Im going to drive it till it wears out -- and usually by then --- I've got the hots for something else, anyway!! .........

My '06 Z that I've owned for two weeks sits in my garage. I take it out only for those "special" driving occasions My daily driver is a truck and sometimes my wife's car.

My Z is my daily driver as well. I've had it for 3 weeks and I've got about 2100 miles on it. I've racked up quite a few miles in the twisty canyon roads on Sun. mornings. I even found one extremely curvy road with steep hills that I even get the Z airborne tons of fun! When I buy a car/motorcycle I drive/ride the wheels off it. I just don't see the point of keeping it in a garage somewhere to only drive it once every 2 weeks to keep the miles low. Eff that...I want to experience all it has to offer. Matter of fact...as soon the the roads dry up from the rain we just had I'm going for a long Fri. night cruise.

I love making my Z solely my weekend whip. Back when i drove my car every day, after a while it just didnt feel "new" anymore. Now it does each time i drive it!! Plusnit looks showroom and isnt ragged out a bit.

I'm currently in Tucson, AZ and there's a road called "Rollercoaster Rd" here that's very twisty and has 2 "jumps" where you can get your car airborne. You only have to go 35-40mph to get airborne and the landings are nice and soft. It's just a great experience to hit the jumps while on the gas and as the Z begins to lift off the rear tires start to peel out then as they leave the ground the tach sweeps up towards the redline...you soar for a little while with the biggest grin on your face..then hear the "chirp" as your tires make contact again. If you can do this without grinning from ear to ear and letting out a nice laugh in pure enjoyment there's something wrong with you!

It's my new Sun. morning tradition!

Most definately my daily driver as I can't afford to drive two cars. I could get a Jeep beater or something - which I may depending on how bad this car is in the snow (we get too much snow here in CT for now skiing dammit!). I've had the car about 5 weeks now and I think I have put 1800 miles on it (I got it with 32,500) . It will have over 2800 of my miles at the end of next week after this "run" trip to VT. My work commute is about 22 miles each way, so around 300 miles a week in work driving (1200 a month - 14,400 a year). Assuming I drive other place (most certainly do) I am looking at probably 17,000 miles a year easily. At that pace, my '03 will have 120,000 miles by the time its paid for in '11. (that is if I kept it that long, I damn well better get a promotion somewhere in there and upgrade to a newer Z).

It's nice to meet other people who share my own situation and philosophy! This is really a great site!

I only drive about 20,000 per year and have never had more than one car at a time. Only problem I've got now is to get all-season tires put on before winter rolls around.

I drive 40-45k miles a year. So having more than one car is a good idea...

Yup, my Z is my DD also. I had a 280 back in the 80's in Ohio and drove it year around. I live right at the west end of the Columbia River Gorge in Washington now. I got your twisty roads right cheer.

I wouldnt have bought my Z if i couldnt have another ride as well. I love having a 4WD vehicle for the nasty weather, plus my Z only sees sunny days keeping it pristine.
