I'm between saving the cash ffrom the turbo for a downpayment on a c6. I can't decide on which one I would like better. I've driven the c6, I own the Z. I love the c6 in stock form. It's a phenomenal car. I've yet to drive a turbo Z or any forced induction Z for that matter. So i'm kind of looking for someone who's driven both and can compare the two.

Then let me put it like this. A turbo Z is better than a stock C6 by far. A turbo C6 is better than a turbo Z. If you don't plan to mod your C6, then keep modding the Z.

Well, the big benefit of the C6 is performance under warranty. I personally love my Z, and I wouldn't trade it for a C6 if I could do it straight-across. Have you driven an F/I'd Z yet? If not, I'd seek one out and do so before you make up your mind. The downside to F/I-ing the Z is that it leaves you high and dry on your powertrain warranty. Additionally, you can get a C6 worked on at any Chevy dealership. There may not be a shop within 200 miles of you that is qualified to tune/work on your Z.

convenience is a large part of the debate. The performance, for the money I know I could make the Z great. But like you said, under the warranty, who could work on the car, part availability, etc.

In my experience upgrading an NA stock car to FI equals more money, downtime, and a decrease in reliability and longivity. The C6 on the other hand is quite fast in stock form. Both are great looking cars but the C6 has a heavier price tag. So with that said money/looks isn't the question but rather reliability and longivity...just my 2 cents.

I like the Z better but obviously I'm biased,
. I would say if you are the type person that wants to just have something stock that is the same as everyone elses car then go with the Corvette. The reason I bought a Z was that it was different (here in IN there aren't many of them) and for $30K I'd rather spend that other 20 or 25K on making the Z my own custom car. But that's just me and there is definitely a drop in resale value (never get the money back out of your parts) and longevity/reliability.

i'm not all that worried about the money. Not to sound like a rich ***** or something, but with the down payment and trade in on one of my other cars, i'll be paying about the same on the c6 as I am now for the Z give or take 30-40 bucks a month.
I like leaving things stock for the most part aside from looks/sound (stereo and exhaust). But I'm also one of those people that once you get started, you can't stop modding the car. I've been like that since my first car when I was 16.
I have to admit, theres nothing better than a throaty sounding v8. The old saleen mustang (03) sounded amazing. I've heard the c6 with a corsa exhaust and it sounds, unbelievable. Styling, each car has it's only distinct look. I don't count that as a posi or negi for either car. The Z seems like a better car if I wanted to track it, and the vette seems like a better street car.
The Z, obviosuly won't have a warranty if i go f/i. The vette seems like the more logical car for me...but I've kind of fallen in love with my Z.

I would get a C6 if I had the chance. I love my TT Z and all, but if I had to do it all over again, I would probably go wtih the C6. When you turn a NA motor into FI there are just so many things you have to deal with. It's just never as realiable as from the factory. If it was only a weekend car, then TT Z would be great, but for daily driver the C6 would be a better choice IMO.

I saw a video somewhere of a C6 with some sort of new cam and exhaust and some other things done and he was running it up and down the road. OMG, that thing sounded so freakin' mean. I like them, but they are just so expensive (compared to a Z, but performance for money they are a lot cheaper than most other cars that compare).

The C6 is a great car. But i would be more biased towards "Nissan" brand as well.
And also the matter of fact i really dislike the sound of muscle domestic cars? Don't know if it's just me. I love the sound of zo6's though.
Now if if there was a thread c6 vs. c5 zo6....****ing take the zo6 anyday.

I'd take the C6 over a Z06 anyday though because the new generation have as much horsepower starting out as the old Z06's plus I like the new styling. Just my opinion though. Or, you could wait for the C6 Z06,
. 500-550 HP for about 65K or so, haha.

A turbo Z is only better than a stock C6 IF you spend about 25k on the Z upgrading it.
Otherwise the C6 will outhandle the Z and hand it it's *** on the track even if the Z has way more power - if it can't put the power down because of wimpy tires or no or stock LSD or bad suspension etc, then oh well sucks to be the Z.
The Z will only compete with the C6 if every aspect of the car is upgraded, not just power.
