Just be thankful that the antenna isn't on the FRONT ...like my GF's new Nissan Xterra.....LOL!
She just traded in her 2002 Eclipse GT, which DID have the antenna built into the rear window and the reception was great....
NOW I ask you.....If a near bankrupt automaker (who got dissed by Chrsyler when they were begging for a handout) like Mitsubishi can DO THIS...Why the hell can't a REAL Japanese automaker like Nissan do it with the Z ??
Real funny thing is Mitsu is REALLY hoping it's NEW, OVERWEIGHT, FUGLY and UNDERPOWERED 3.8 liter V6 - 263 HP Eclipse will save the day!! Hell naw.....LOL!!

BTW, Zs in the middle east market have rear windshield-imbedded antennas as that market does not get the roadster.

first thing i did when i got my Z was to replace the stock antenna with the S2000's antenna - fits perfectly, excellent reception and looks great. I think the Z looks better with an antenna vs. a window one - but not the stock one...

aalzuhair is from Saudi Arabia no? He has a Z, I think he would know if his Z has a window antanna or not. take a pick of your Z aalzuhair and maybe some proof that its from Saudi Arabia (license plate frame maybe). Its also hard for me to believe that they make Zs here with external antannas and not somewhere else.

Here is a picture of a shorty - reception was a little worse than the stock antenna. I listen to CD's the most.
Here is a picture of S2000 antenna - reception is better than the stock antenna, looks good and doesn't wiggle in the wind like the stock antenna.
I just install it when I know I want to listen to the radio before I take off. It is always in the glovebox. The shorty antenna looks so good.

I think the antenna placement is reminiscence of the 240Z. Check this thread and if you see the picture of the 240Z, notice the antenna placed, it like the 350Z. https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/140422-240z-to-350z-a-tour-down-memory-lane.html

Wow, I must admit I am from a cave. I didn't realize Saudi Arabia was such a happening place. I always think its like Kuwait. Wait, I do recall reading somewhere that alot of exotic cars are sold in the middle eastern countries especially Dubai which I would love to visit one day.
Also, I didn't realize that letters are used in Saudi Arabia, I saw the word "parking" in one of the pics. And for the license plates, how many letters are there, why so long?

Dubai is certainly very nice, but spending a week there last July made my eyes burn every time I stepped outside a temp-controlled area. That place defines hot weather. As for exotics, I lost count after seeing the 20th Ferrari/Lambo in the first couple of days. Beautiful cars on beautiful roads.
