Thats Crap, I raced so many evo's from a 60 roll, i would pull on them every time...raced a few with intakes and exhausts as well...our cars own evo's on a roll...unless they are decenlty modded...from a dig...im not gonna get into this..lol
An evo with just an exhaust and a mail in reflash on average makes 290whp. That should be MORE than enough to make things a little interesting for you. Aside from that, do any of you guys know of any local 350z's for sale for a decent deal? Wanting an 04 or newer...
Schedule a date to drive on a track such as Summit Point, WV. Then come back and tell us how you did compared to other drivers. It ain't the car, its the driver.

I've had the distinct advantage of a close friend with an VIII and I have raced him to one extent or another after every mod. Stock v. Stock I beat him on the freeway. For about 3 months I beat him from the dig then he learned to launch and got me by .5-1 car in a quarter. Now he is just stupid fast 338WHP. And that is a REALLY fun car to track! Between the Recaro/Advan/Suspension that is a tight/fast car. But then as I fall in love I get out turn around and look at it and go back to the Z.

Ditto. Its all about driver. My experience has been that STI and EVO owners are overconfident in their cars. AWD is only a marginal advantage on dry pavement. A difference easily made up for with driver's skill.
I think it would go a long way in easing the tensions between our camps to have an "import" track day where STI's, EVO's, 350Z's and maybe S2000 could come and show their stuff. I think the appreciation level for all of these cars would go up. They are all amazing automobiles.
Keep an eye on the T2 class at the SCCA Runoffs for some insight into how each of these cars fair against each other.
I believe that Evo was the european FQ model which is a fudging monster. But still, for the price it did embarass the Lambo.

Man for $86,500, that better beat everything because its still a Lancer. Its more than 3 times the price of the cheapest EVO in the US. The power numbers are impressive, 405Hp & 355 lbft of torque. I dont know how reliable those are considering the track record of the Mitsubishis. Because more you boost a smaller engine, loads rise considerably higher.
Good one.
