Default Search for my Z has become depressing...

Well, the Z i want is very rare. An Ultra Yellow, Automatic, which is NOT a 35th aniversary edition.

I live in Los Angeles, CA. And every dealer I go to doesn't have what I want. They keep on wanting to sell me silver ones and black ones, and I don't want those. Coupled with the recent news that the 06' Z's won't come out in yellow, and it pretty much sucks.

Do a search online, I'm sure that you can find something.

I think the problem is that you're a little late jumping on the ultra yellow bandwagon, since the 06's are coming out any minute now.

There's not much you can do except hope to find a used one in a year or two, but the odds of that are pretty unlikely as well.

Talk to the internet manager at one of the dealerships, they usually search dealer stock from all of CA and AZ to find the car you want (I originally wanted Black with Orange interior, but someone bought the last one in CA/AZ a couple days before I bought mine). However, it sounds like you're out of luck.

If you're dead set on the color, obviously your options are limited. Maybe you should just go ahead with the 35AE if they have it in yellow and auto...

There is a dealer in new hamsphire that has one I was looking at. I'm pretty sure it's a touring edition with chrome rims and maunal transmission (not sure if that works for you). The internet dealer was quite nice but it just didn't work out for me. Do a search on the nissan website and you'll find it. Since NH has no sales tax it might be worth the flight and the enjoyment of the drive back. I had about 4 buddies who would have done the road trip with me. Think about it !!

I think a road trip from Texas to LA would be a great way to get to know your Z... just fly down and buy it if thats the color of your dreams

Of course they can ship it by truck, it's only money. Just negotiate the shipping to be included in the purchase price. Don't tell them you have a hard time finding this exact one. At worst, if you cannot drive it back, pay them the extra to ship it. Make sure you note the mileage before they ship it out and it should be about the same when you receive it.

If you ask on this board, I'm sure someone would be happy to drive it to your door step at a much better price. You may not want that though.

learn to drive stick and open up your model choices. In car buying sometimes you cant get EXACTLY what you want.

Do you have Carmax in your area and are you against a slightly used one? I remember not being able to find the one I wanted, so I filled out their search alert email thing, and a month later I got an email from them that they had one in stock. Drove it off the lot 12 hours later.

Keep looking! You need to have the car you want...Not what someone else thinks you should have. Keep searching the internet. Call a car Broker and have them search for you. That's what they get paid to do.

I feel ya on this one. It took me a 6 weeks to find the car I wanted. I only got it by chance because i called the dealer the moment it was coming off of the truck and had them hold it. I drove 300 miles to pick it up. Look att he inventory online on the nissan website, i would say thats your easiest place to look short of calling every damn dealer in the country. Just dont settle, you wont be happy.

Good luck finding one man. Don't settle, although I wanted a SB and ended up with a silverstone and I love it (it doesn't get dirty or show swirls like a black one).
