nicely put.

the Z is sneaky with its big lazy yawns of power. i agree it can feel slow because of this, but it is simply getting the job done in a different way.

Interior quality of the Z is worse than a Honda Civic

My sister has a Honda Civic SI and she would very much like to disagree with you. My co-worker just bought a 2005 Honda accord and even she bashes her interior. When they ride in my 350Z, they think it's some luxery car. If you are going to come to the table, at least bring something good and concrete.

Slow compared to what? To me it is not super fast off the line and I don't really care or I wouldn't have bought it, but put it in 5th @80 mph and gun it up to 105 or so...at that range to me it Feels 90% as fast as my friend's e46 M3 6-speed. I like the interior for a Nissan, if you want a nice interior get a Bentley or take it to some Custom Car place and let them put some suede up in it?

That's why I didn't buy a Ferrari F40 when it came out, the interior wasn't as comfy as a Civic...

Try downshifting into 2nd from 40mph or 3rd from 60mph... pulls great! This car really does get up and move on the highway from 3rd gear on up. Its not the fastest from 0-60 but freeway onramps make me smile every time. I'm stock too

I was just surprised how slow it felt compared to some other cars.

To get rid of the high rev slow moving feel, get yourself a JWT pop charger then you will definitely feel the diference. Best $130 I've ever spent! The car pulls very HARD, you'll fall in love instantly!

Did that Pop Charger help on the low end in 1st and 2nd?

If a car was to "pin me back to my seat" and scare the shiet out of me on an average TEST DRIVE, I would be terrified to take it on a spirited drive.

I've driven vans that felt retarded fast and sounded like it's engine was going to fall apart, when in actuality you're traveling 15 mph.

The Z feels poised and composed on the street until you decide to engage WOT.

I notice this exact same thing as well. Even at part throttle acceleration from a stop, when I look in the rearview I dusted pretty much everyone... and it didn't feel like it especially since I wasn't even trying. The Z seems to accelerate faster than it feels. People are leadfoots here. I used to have a Miata and a Prelude before that, and those cars felt like they accelerated like a bat out of hell and I'd look in the rearview and have a minivan with a bored-looking parent trying to crawl up my tailpipe. No such problems at all with the Z.

Ya, that's when all hell breaks loose...LOL! I have the base model with no TCS or VDC or any of that, and personally I like it. Gives the car a more "raw" nature and makes you have to truly drive the thing right. But like someone already said. Any car that can spin the tires going from 1st into 2nd must be pretty darn quick.

I recently test drove a stock 05 too and compared to my NA modded Z it felt sluggish. The stock flywheel takes an eternity to rev or downshift - like crazy long time. I posted a thread in the engine mod section about it.

That said, the Z will not actually feel like you're hauling *** until you're going about 90-120mph because it's aerodynamics is so streamlined and chasis/suspension is so stiff

Didn't you try to start a whole new thread stating this already? I thought this thread was about driving speed/pull, not interiors.

hey vegas fam go *uck off you troll. you probably just dream to drive a Z but have to put it down because you're mad at the wheels you push.

oh and about the tire chirping thing.. my friends d16 ek9 can chirp second. i believe it's how you drive, still doesn't mean my friends hatchy is fast because it's just simply not.

to the original post: do yourself a favor, if you don't like it, don't buy it! we ain't gonna make the car faster for you by talking about it.

Default Why?

350z's been out for 3 years and he just gets around to testing.
It dosen't have 240hp.
Thinks perception is more important than reality.
Interior quality not top notch. Yes, and the sky in NC is blue.

This guy's no Jay Leno.

I never got that feeling of being pinned in my seat.... not even close. What's the deal? I don't think i could own a car that didnt at least FEEL fast, especially a 'sports' car! And also the interior material quality is very poor.

Other than those 2 gripes, everything else is good. I was just surprised how slow it felt compared to some other cars.

i felt the same thing at the test drive from the dealership, then i test drove a broken in Z from a friend and it felt considerably faster... and another thing about the Z, ur money is mostly going into the fine tuned engine and a bit into the handling, not so much the body or the interior, although i have no complaints about either.. most sports cars tend to be like that anyway
