There is no such animal on the Z. There is TC (Traction Control) which uses the wheel speed sensor for the ABS system to detect wheel spin and reduce throttle. There is also VDC, which is traction control PLUS a yaw sensing component (yaw is when your car starts traveling in a direction other than that which it is pointing). In addition to throttle reduction, the VDC system can brake at individual wheels in an attempt to correct a Yaw condition.

That's brief, but I hope it helps.

LOL....reading this, my post was probably way off target.

I think you're looking for VVTC, Variable Valve Timing Control. My understanding of this is that it can control timing (when the valves open/close in relation to piston location, but cannot control lift or duration like VTEC can. I could be mistaken though!

Thats an old topic.
It referes to the added variable timing exhaust valves on the rev-up engine. The previous engine had it only on the intake valves.

You hit it right on the head. VTEC is a simple change in fuel and ignition maps combined with a change to larger cam lobes with more lift and duration that occurs when a certain RPM is attained. Other systems such as VVTC and VVT-i are variable valve timing computers that look at various factors and continuously adjust the valve timing. Most 350Z engines only have VVTC on the intake cam whereas the 300 hp engine has it on both cams.
