I had a weird experience test driving the Z this afternoon.

The dealer came to my office to pick me up, then launched into a long tirade on why he doesn't like selling cars, it's impossible to make any money in this business, and that he used to be an investment banker but something happened and he lost all his money.

He seemed completely ignorant on the finer points of the vehicle. In the middle of the test drive he started asking me questions about my work, and how he could broker real estate deals with my office if I was interested.

By the way, driving the car was like liquid sex, and I see why y'all are complaining about the interior, it was pretty lame, but that doesn't bug me that much.

It's kind of weird though that the lighter/cell phone charger thing is under the passenger's side dashboard, what's the deal with that?

I'm going to go to a different dealership, see if I can find a normal salesperson to handle my purchase.

Uh, it isn't (unless they moved it). That's the pop-out cup holder. The power outlet is in the bulkhead trim between the seat backs.

Someone is about to go out to their car and look for BOTH electrical outlets and jump for joy when they find the one they didn't know was there. Kinda like the windows going down with the key fob.

Just gets better every day.

Seriously. He also brought over a convertible, when I asked him for a coupe. Then he told me that in order to test drive a coupe he would have to get it from another dealership, and for that I'd have to put down a $1,000 deposit.

What an idiot. I find it hard to believe that a Nissan dealership in a city as big as Miami doesn't have at least one coupe on their lot.

Endicott Nissan, a dealership in the northern part of Ft Lauderdale (may already be Pompano).

The Nissan dealerships I've been to so far (Maroone on US1 just north of the airport) and Endicott have really not been that impressive. The people working there just don't seem to know anything about the Z.

Maroone quoted me 37,000 sticker price for the 05 Touring with no Navi ( wtf ) and the guy didn't even seem interested in talking to me.

If I came in looking homeless, I could sort of understand that, but I'm a lawyer and I dress like one.

When I was searching for Z's all I could find were automatics in virtually every dealer. I was told that the manuals are snatched up like hotcakes. It was also difficult to find my color combo (see sig) and I just ended up buying my car for $32,000 OTD (sticker was $36,900 IIRC and they sold it for $29,900) from a mom and pop dealer in Atlanta. I didn't negotiate, i just said give me the car... Burnt Orange + Silverstone or Black are impossible to find...

Maroone Nissan of Kendall
Maroone Nissan of Miami &
Bill Seidle's Nissan at International Mall...

are some you might want to try... I personally like Maroone Nissan of Miami as people here seem to be more eager to help you...

since he doesnt give a shyt about his job. just tell him straight to cut you below invoice. if he says anything bad, just remind him of his attitude and how he can't sell shyt.

I'll look into those.

The car I'm looking for is Black with orange/tan interior, I didn't think that one would be so hard to find!

If you are willing to look outside of Miami/Florida PM me with exactly what Z model, colors and options you want. I will try my best to make it worth your while to travel to Savannah

We drove up to Titusville to buy our Zs. There's a tiny dealership there with the best salesman we've ever met. If you want his info, PM me. I know he's delivered cars to Jacksonville for people, so having a Z delivered to you might not be out of the question either.

OMFG! That is BS if I've ever heard it! Ask him to get off his lam a$$ and get the coupe for you to test drive. Do NOT make a purchase decision before driving the trim level you intend to buy.
