That might be ture, but it still does not justify your comment of it being a failure.

Ever notice how car makers make these really bad-a$$ cars with lots o' power and so-so gas mileage just in time for an energy crisis to put the price of gas through the roof? Then, everybody goes, "Oh ****, I need a more affordable ride." So, they trade-in their nice cars for econoboxii. Eventually, things get better and they step up to another nice car and... the cycle starts over again.
