my wife and i pay $290 a month for 03 z touring and her 99 3.2 tl. she is primary on the z i am primary on the tl. getting married helps tremndously, our insurance dropped about $400 a month bc of getting married. i dont have a clean record btw. 2 or 3 tix and an accident that was my fault about 3 years ago. i am 24 and turn 25 next aug but it will not affect the rate too much probly like $20-30 at most.

To the original poster... you have to take into account (like what your dad said) what your deductibles AND liability limits are like.

I'm 24 (in 2 weeks), I have Safeco, and pay $250/month. On the other hand , I have $250 deductibles and am covered for $500,000(!) for liability. The minimum liability insurance required in California is only $30,000(?). Do you know how easy it is to do $30,000 worth in damage in a bad accident, including property damage, hospital bills in case you badly injure someone, or if you accidentally kill someone? $30k probably won't even cover someone's overnight stay in a hospital if you badly injure them. Anything over that would come out of your own pocket. Personally, I'd rather pay a little more a month with peace of mind knowing that I'm covered. But I also think AAA and State Farm are two of the more "expensive" insurance companies... they're good though.

Turning 24 in alil over a month. State Farm list my parents and myself as the drivers for the Z. It is $508 after 6 months. My '87 Nissan is $300 after 6 months. Clean record for my dad and myself. We were on a new discounted rate for a little over a month until my mom got in a fender bender :-(

Ooh, it says here I'm limited to about 7500 miles or less annually. I don't know if they check my milage, but this car is still my weekend driver. During the week, I still drive my '87 hatch. That means, I've had this car for exactly 3 years and I still haven't hit 22,500. I'm below by a few hundred.

You should not be paying insurance on a car you do not own...period. I don't think it's even legal that they make you pay after the car is totaled.
I had an accident 2.5 years ago and I had paid up for 6 months with USAA. When the car was totaled I got a refund of the prorated amount from the date of the accident.

anyway, 22, 500 ded, 100K limits, 165/mo. Homeowner discount and paid in full discount. One accident no tickets. Progressive

They said if I stop paying for the insurance on the totalled car my insurance will get canceled. So my dad said fine, I'm gonna start sending every bill that I get on that car to the insurance of the electric company who's trck hit me headon until my Z arives and I switch the insurance over to it.

21 male, no accidents, no tickets, completely PERFECT record, and I still pay $250 a month StateFarm. I noticed many of you get much lower rates even for some of you that are only 18, because you are all from states like Missouri, Michigan, Kansas, etc. I'm from Southern California.

+1 ^^^^^ forgot about that. California insurance is definitely more expensive than other states like Michigan, Kansas, etc.

24 don't know my coverage but I do have 5gs worth of custom equipment coverage which suprisingly is included if you ask for it. Pay $160 a month. Goes down in December when my wreckless drivng charge is wiped. No points on that charge since I fought it.

Going on 24 in November... pay $960 every 6 months for both my cars. That's with one wreck and numerous tickets. A LOT of tickets.
