Pictures of the hater-damaged Z repaired!
So I went down to the body shop yesterday, they had the bumper off, the side sill off, and all kinds of crap, and I was kicking myself for letting my neighbor borrow my digital camera!! Grrr. So the first thing I did after staggering up this morning is go get it, and head down to the shop. Only this time, it's sitting outside, awaiting some more buffing, according to the shop people. They say it'll be ready by 5 this afternoon, but I can't wait that long cuz I'm headed up to Dallas again with my daughter. I told them I'll get it Monday, that will give them time to make sure everything's perfect anyway. Without further ado...here's the first "after" pic, to be followed by 3 more. For the "before", reference this thread:

Paint looks like a perfect match, although REAL close up you might be able to tell a slight difference with the flecks. It's very difficult to notice, however. I might even be imagining it.

It's still dusty obviously, but by Monday, it'll be sparkling again. Great job by these guys! You'll notice the panel looks slightly darker than the bumper, well, it was like that before. The rear quarter panel matches the door pretty much perfectly. The Daytona Blue isn't the only one with miscolored bumpers, it's just the most noticable.

Just read your thread from when this happened. Way to be the bigger person. Can't tell it was f'ed up from the pics. I'm sure you can't tell unless you have a magnifying glass. The person who did that will get theirs in the end, and you'll still be driving the Z.

Wow! They did a TERRIFIC job on that. I hope you're happy with it, because the pics make it look great. I don't know how it looks up close in person, but I'd never know from the pics that it was damaged.

Hey, up in Dallas right now, and the only thing I've noticed about it is that the crease isn't as sharp anymore, compared to the door. You don't even notice unless you're looking, though, so I dunno.

I told them I wanted a new quarter panel because I didn't think they could handle the crease, but they told me that they could. Plus, if I got a new panel I'd lose the factory weld, the undercoating, and crap like that so I was like, fine. They worked it all out, and got it done real quick. (they called back right before I left for Dallas so I ended up driving it up there ) The crease isn't as sharp compared to the passenger side, but it's not something you're going to notice, so I'm not too worried about it.
BTW, USAA is a great insurance company. Put it on comprehensive no problem, and since I had a $0 deductible because I sorta expected something like this, I paid nothing to get it fixed. They were really fast, too.
