Default some 06 350z gets pilot sport tires

http://nissannews.com/nissan/2006veh...pe/specs.shtml

One of the other major changes for 2006 is the use of standard 18-inch cast aluminum-alloy wheels (17-inch wheels were standard in previous years). They are mounted with 225/45WR18 (front), 245/45WR18 (rear) Michelin Pilot Sport or BridgestoneŽ Potenza RE040 tires.

My 05 Roadster Touring came with Pilot Sports too.

Still not sure how, though...every other one I've ever seen on a lot had Potenza's

I've got potenza's and they aren't THAT bad but they definitely aren't that grippy. I'm also doing some practice drifting and burnouts to get rid of them, .

I think Nissan was putting the Michelins on when there were simply no Potenzas to be put on. I mean with the amount that have been replaced they can't hold up the assembly line waiting on tires so they probably put on the Michelins till they got more Potenzas in.

Hmmmm notice on http://nissannews.com/nissan/2006veh...er/specs.shtml

that the wheels for the Grand Touring are 18s, and the other two say that 18s are optional. I thought the Grand Touring ROADSTER got the same wheels as everybody else. The RAYs aren't even an option on the roadster.

heh strange...the only part of that spec sheet that isn't clear is the Tires section. According to that, the non track/GT trims are a toss-up on whether they get RE040s or Pilot Sports? Both seem to come standard...
