Question PSI Alarm

The outside temp was about 40 degrees as I pulled out of a market parking lot. Suddenly, an alarm went off, and when I came down from the liner, I noticed that the PSI indicator was flashing, with some funny readings.

The alarm shut off, then the indicator started reading a temperature of 37 degrees, and a message saying "icy".

I had driven around 30 miles before parking at the market, so the car was still plenty warm.

I seem to recall a prior posting, but does anyone know what was happening?

Most likley your tires are right at the point of noy having enough air in them so the alarm sounded when you started the car. After you drove for a little bit the air expanded and the pressure increases in the tires. The alarm had nothing to do with the air temp besides the cold air making the air inside the tires more dense.

Default Was your PSI alarming or was your ICY

warning going off... you know that no matter what position your computer is in .. if there is a warning it will flash to that alarm untill you click the top button on the right speed dial cover to return to the display you had up.

Hope that helps

first you had a tire go under 28PSI, probably due to the cold temperature. now that beep is the PSI warning, you dont get a beep for ICY warning.

if Im correct, when you drive the car, it sould popup to the tire pressure monitor, and say PSI in the bottom like it would say ICY. that will remain there untill all 4 tires are above 32PSI I believe. not certain.

see I had my PSI alarm going off for almost a month, basicly one tire barely hit 27 at 28degreesbut normally its around 29 cold and the rest at 31, I like having 31cold in all 4... but I didnt get around to filling that one tire up. anyway, on a long drive at almost 60degrees outside, the PSI warning disappeared, and I checked the low tire was at 32. so I guess it reset itself. it hasnt come back on since it doesnt drop below 28 normally. but anyway, thats where I pull my answer from.
