Ordered Z Today on Long Island + More
Hi everyone. I just ordered a 350Z today at my local Habberstand Nissan (the best Nissan dealer on Long Island). I was too late for the preorder program, but the dealer placed it as a special order. He had a 27 car allotment; I was 20. He said the Z should be in by late October. But I have a friend who is a VP at Nissan and I hope she can speed that up a bit. I paid MSRP for the Z.
Oh, he also said that the Car and Driver vehicle was a pre-production model. He said he heard that the final version may be greater than 287HP (300 or 310 he said). But Who knows.
By the way, if anyone needs a copy of the Car and Driver review, just send me a private message with your email address.
Cheers.

Welcome to the clan, Intrepid.
The final HP numbers have caused quite the stir on the board this week. We have a lot of opinions, dreams, prayers and one elusive C&D article but very few facts. Especially direct quotes from Nissan. Attached is an old but still relevent cut from the Spring 2002 issue of Sport Z.
The wording always led me to believe the final figure would be over 290. Time will tell but Jay certainly won't.

Not Klan, Tim said CLAN. Clan with a C, not K.
clan
Pronunciation Key (kln)
n.
A traditional social unit in the Scottish Highlands, consisting of a number of families claiming a common ancestor and following the same hereditary chieftain.
A division of a tribe tracing descent from a common ancestor.
A large group of relatives, friends, or associates.
---------------------
I wasn't sure if you were doing the joke thing or not... but Tim is a good guy, not a bad guy.

Thanks Jman!
Simplycute, certainly share your opinion of that version. Clan is a colloquial Midwestern term referring to a group of family or friends as Jay's definition states. My Illinios roots showing!
