350Z Deliveries

I was hesitant whether I should make this post, but maybe it has some merit.
While at the Blackhawk showing of the 350Z, I had a casual conversation with a Nissan rep. I asked him about the possible delay in shipments. He said Nissan was delaying shipments about 20 to 25 days and had good reasons for doing so which Nissan trusts will be acceptable to its potential 350Z owners. I gathered it was for some fine tuning and quality improvement reasons. He also said, there would only be 7-350Zs delivered to the Northern Calif dealers in the month of August. The biggest shipments are scheduled for September with another large shipment in October. He knew of my order (probably because of my unusual name) and confirmed my thinking that I could possibly expect my Z around the 1st of October rather than mid September. I told him, that is certainly acceptable with me as I would like Nissan to make whatever improvements they could before our Zs are shipped.

So you go by rocketscientist everywhere, eh? Pride and modesty are two seperate issues ;-> j/k
Weird how the people on the east coast seem to be continually hearing earlier delivery dates... I'd imagine your dealer is right and it's the beginning of Sept. that marks their arrivala, but man, I sure wanted to drive it to my family reunion on the 3rd of September. It's in the mountainous area of western PA and there area some great roads/curves there!

I lived near Valley Forge for nearly 10 years. PA has some very beautiful country. I live in an area in California where the mountains are very similar to those in Western PA. I am at the 3300 foot level with very crooked and hilly roads that will be a pleasure to drive in a 350Z.

PS: I just noticed you live in Sonora. My dad used to live in that area. Do you get over to Columbia much? My dad was kind of an icon in the old mining town.

I actually live 10 miles east-up the mountains from Sonora and drive a very crooked road (Big Hill) from our home to Columbia. Columbia is a special village and of course is noted for it's gold mining history, as is Sonora. We go there often. There is a winery (Ironstone) in a nearby town (Murphys) that houses a 44 pound hunk of crystaline gold that was found in the Jamestown area in 1992. Jamestown is just 3 miles from Sonora. With that hunk of gold you could buy many 350Zs and have some money left over to pay for the premium gas...currently $1.90 cents per gallon in the Sonora area.

I-80 in Western PA would be an awesome drive during autumn. Nice mountainous terrain and good scenery. If you are ever in the Harrisburg area, there are some really nice mountain roads near Dauphin, they used to use them for road races back in the day. I plan on taking my car up there for some spirited driving once its broken in.
