Oldsnail, isn't this a requirement for cars in BC? Did you buy your car from the US then bring it over? I'm in the same situation if it is law so I'd be interested in the same info.

yup I'm buying and bringing it over to BC from states..
so much headache :P but well worth it..
now I got a chicken and egg problem with my bill of sale/title of document..
I might have to apply for leave of absent at work and plan 'unplanned' vacation in the states because of 72hr requirement to send U.S. customs documents to export a vehicle..

OK, well you and I should definitely stay in touch then as I'm looking for the same thing. Here's a related thread I found, but the owner is looking for the opposite. He has a Canadian spec car and wants to shut the DRL off. But hopefully this thread will shed more light on what you and I have to do:

I just called Canadian Tire in North Vancouver...
Although they DO installation of DRL, they weren't sure when I told them it would be 06 model... and the price would be 2.5 hr labor + $35 parts + tax comes to around $200. I tried Regency Nissan in North Vancouver, but their answer was too simple.
We don't do that :P email me at chinook79AThotmailDotCom if you want to discuss further about how to import and things

Cool thanks, I was just about the call a dealer up there as my local dealer in Berkeley CA had no idea. Though they are going to look at it tomorrow with a tech to see if they can figure anything out. So I'll keep you posted as to what they say.
Going to import 2 cars a 98 Volvo GLT which shouldn't have any problems. And an 03 Touring Z. It's light modded mostly in the suspension and brake dept. but I do have an RS*R exhaust and should be putting a JWT intake on very soon so I don't know if those items will cause any problems *RS*R is very loud).
Time frame wise looking at mid Nov. but transport and importation would all be handled by the company, just need to make sure it's going to be allowed in I'll definitely keep note of your email and will forward you anything interesting I find.

Geez I am looking at doing the same thing. Ontario here. Was searching about the day time driving lights and came accross this thread.
Canadian Tire has an exclusive on the inspection, 200 bucks not so bad on the install actually.
I also called Nissan Canada to make sure all warranties and recalls are covered. They are but recommended to have them done in the States as the VINs take time to cross reference.
I too would be interested on what is needed to import but seems very straight forward.
Another quick question, Miles to KM's.. are you doing anything about the gauges?

same thing for Canadian dealer.... so I guess I have no option but to go to Canadian tire.. but the Canadian tire guy sounded very unsure when I told him it would be 06 model.. he was saying.. he has to see the car to see if they can do it... and not sure if it would void warranty..
he really gave me really good peace of mind hehe
I came across a site that tells you how to do it in RX7.. but no info on 350z

Any ideas on the gauge converstion are you going to do anything, can the trip computer run both Metric and Standard? Hmm the Daytime light thing has me worried now.
Man I can not believe how much a difference in price there is between US and Canada for these cars.

this site... if you are interested in importing vehicle from states.
it says... Metric speedometer and odometer labels are provided by inspection centre... I am just hoping that those labels wouldn't make my interior look too cheap.. all these can be arranged by the inspection centre, so I am not too worried about them..
