sadly, it is government regulation for us to have DRL on vehicle produced after 91. It is sort of safety regulation as it is believed that DRL would reduce crashes... We do not have choice but install it if we decide to register the vehicle in Canada

Just got my car back from the local dealer today (it was in for some warranty work) and they could not figure out how to get the headlights to trigger upon engine start Prob didn't spend too much time on it but I was hoping they would be able to hook something up. How does importation work when it comes to this law? Will I be able to bring my car into BC then get it fixed at a later date? Or must the DRL already be installed and working when the car gets there?

Check JC Whitney Cat # WF135227R $25.99. Allows for headlights to be turned on automatically with ignition at 24% reduction to extend headlight bulbs. Simple install .... Most any shop should be able to do this.
If not, I'm going into business. Lol !!!!

there is a part you can buy... I've seen a few on internet on sale..
I've also found some instruction site for s2000 and rx7 but not 350z
for importation, you can do it after you get it to BC but you'll need it in order to register vehicle in BC(within 45 days of importation)
Canadian Tire does that.. but when I enquired about 06 350z they gave me very questionable answer... 'er.. maybe.. I'll have to see the car first... you know I don't want to void the warranty or anything, maybe you should take it to dealer...' For dealer... my local dealer don't do **** except change 05 model's wheel to 19" nismo wheel and install nismo spoiler then put $56,000 sticker on performance model.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered this and will install myself. Though I'm not importing the car into Canada until Jan. I would like to simply get it out of the way.
