Still the same as from a dig, pretty even. Because on a roll the s2000 loosed it's advantage of having alot less weight. But the 350z looses some of the advatage of how much more torque it has aswell.

S2000 isnt designed for drag so cut it out man..
jaysus..
well here s2000 with its 9000rpm redline provides the feel about a real race car if u dont agree on its sufficient on the track... OK? Everything has to have this feel thing... its like touch...
Roadsters are never designede for drag so beating an s2000 with a coupe GFG!
You really have to compare roadsters with roadsters... apples for apples pears for pears
s2000 is in same class with Z4, Boxster, X-fire, 350Z roadster, and audi TT roadster NOT coupe ... --> TOP GEAR EPISODE!

Bottom line Z is faster, more torque and hp! At the strip and track.

When people are racing from a roll the weight advantage doesnt matter as much. It's like a lotus elise. They can run low 13's in the 1/4 mile stock. Why? Because it is so light. But it's been well documented that on a race from a roll at highway speeds that they can beat much more easy than from a drag. This is becasue the faster you go the less weight becomes a factor. If you don't understand this then I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you.

For my second point, at the same time the Honda S2000 is loosing it's advatage of being alot lighter, the 350z will also loose the advantage of having alot more torque. This is kind of how formula one car's work. They are have high horsepower and low torque engine's. This is ok because once they get at the speeds that they do, they don't ned as much torque. That is why I say the extra torque doesnt help the Z on the freeway. To be honest with you it doesn't seem to help it off the line much either.

But to say one is faster than the other is hard to say. To be honest with you, I have never lost to a 350z. And I'm sur there are alot of you that have never lost to an S2000. It's a drivers race. And as far as handling I think I heard some one say that it's not that great. Miata drivers are great but seem to have something against S2k's, So I wouldnt go by what one miata owner says as the truth (this was stated above some where). Technically, the s2k is mid engine car; this happens becasue the engine actaully sits behind the front wheels. This helps the car achieve perfect 50/50 weight balance. Not to many cars have that. The s2k is probably one of the better handling cars south of elise prices.

The only thing I really like about the S2K are the HID lights and being a convertible. I hate driving on the freeway going over those lane bumps, it feels like the car is riding on go-kart wheels. The S2K has a bad habit of leaving black exhaust dust on the garage, and we rarely drove it (9K miles before traded). I love both cars, but I really like the Z a lot more because of the initial power and the bulky frame. If I had a choice now, I'd go for the last letter of the alphabet. By the way, I didn't trade the 2001 S2K for the Z, traded for a different car, different forum.

from what I have seen, about 80% of your races are up to the driver. The other day my friend saw a 350Z take a newer model M3 in a race from a dig because the driver in the M3 didn't know how to drive it. Point is, even with a bone stock Z, you have a fighting chance a lot of races, because a lot of people can't drive.

Take me for example, I haven't gotten the launch down on a Z, so anything short of a Prius can take me off the line (ok, that's stretching it a bit, but you get the idea)

a couple points about both cars again

in s2000 i dont feel im safe lol if i get hit i will probably die or eat from a straw for the rest of my life

in the Z i feel much safer because of size, tons of air bags and just the feeling of beign safe (comes naturally)

I have to say in s2000, above 5600 rpm... (i swear i test drove those s2ks all summer) it just GOES, you might not go fast but u feel like "boost" kicking in and it just screams
In the Z the torque is spread out evenly =\ no "boost" feeling in my butt-dyno
The Elise is a 100% track car, I've see and followed them on the street and the exhaust from that is totally out of this world. You have to be pretty well set to get an elise cuz no way ur driving to work with that or going shopping with that.

s2000 is about M3 convertible level in terms of performance, better than standard boxster, z4 3.0, and 350Z roadster. Practicality being its weak point but since its mainly used as a weekend racer f*ck practicality and go drive!

The 350Z on the other hand is practical, delivers grunt, looks pretty, performs all around... good on the track, not as intense and rewarding as s2000, good on the street, can get groceries, and become a daily commuter.

Just practice launches @ stop lights during ur commute or something
look over to the jack *** to ur side, if he drives a car that can beat urs dont do anything stupid or he'll post a kill story on his car's forum, if its something other than that just rev to 2500-3000 rpm and give it when the light turn green =P
Soon enough you'll get it hahaha...

not to get off topic, but how much wheel spin does a launch at that rpm cause?
