I'll agree with that. I just think straight line driving isn't a true test of a sports car, my opinion. Sorry to have miss read your quotes.

I am surprised at how many people are hating on the G who own Z's. I wonder why?

I don't have a clue why? Both are awesome. I bought this Z because of driving my sisters G35 coupe.
Yea, sports cars aren't judged by going strait but I have been drag racing for years. It's in my blood. I should have a dedicated drag car like years before but it's just not in the budget right now.
If I had a kid or two I would be driving a G35 for SURE...

Yea, I test drove one of those as well... If it looked as nice as it sounded and drove I would've bought one.
It looks like a regular car? Don't like that.

I like both Gs & Zs. But if I want higher class & luxury I'd settle for a mbz or bimmer.

This is just a marketing ploy by the manufaturer to make peope think they are buying the exact same thing.
For example: infinity in japan is a nissan lexas in japan is a toyota. There are some people who wouldnt be caught dead driving a toyota but they are driving a lexus... Ignorance Sells.
So in my opinion they are both the same with different options.

Or, just buy a used one for 12K and put the LS2 Motor with warantee in it.
That's my next project cause I can't see spending ~$40K for a Camaro SS.
You know that is what they would want if they built such a beast. :icon38

The Infiniti IS a "nicer" car. When I'm in the mood to drive fast and have fun, I take my Z, but if i'm feeling lazy, I take the boyfriends G....it's an automatic and it's got a smoother ride. They are both great cars, just in their own way.

Too bad they don't have M3 CSL here in the US. (well at least not by BMWNA) I saw a video clip of CSL hanging right in the rear of 911 Turbo and having a lap time a second lower...

Just like GT-R, it would cost a fortune to import and register.....

I would never say the g is crap, ugly, or boring. Some of us just picked the z for different reasons. And the reason can't be the price; it's not like the the z is an $18,000 car. This is a pricey car. We like how our cars look, and the g owners like how their cars look. And when everything is equal, the z will have a slight edge over the g in performance. But of course if their is a great driver in a g, and a crappy driver in the z, the g will win. Saying "it's a drivers race" is for z base vs. z track or z vs. s2k. I am also surprised how many g-haters there are. I think that if you like how the z looks and performs, you will also like how the g looks and perform.

Yes, when I bought my 95 maxima there was an infiinity with EXACTLY the same specs for $8,000 more , BUT you do get the Infinity name on it!!

You're like the talk show host who needs callers to make him popular! He often plays the Devil's advocate.

I do wonder why the G35 lovers arent doing the G35 forum.
I've never wandered over there - lack of interest I guess.

They weren't exactly the same car except for the badge. I'm not saying the Infiniti version was worth $8k more or not, but if you look at the standard features and also compare reliability history, the Infiniti version comes out on top. I don't know specifics about the Maxima/I35, but at least for the Pathfinder,Qx4, the Qx4 was better equipped and it's reliability ratings were much higher than the equivelant Pathfinder.

im not going to be cordial. g35 looks like a bigass scion tc..... nowhere close to how sleak and hot the Z looks.

how the hell can anyone comapre the G35 to a 350z in terms of looks? thats crazy!

my opinion about how cars look is the last word. i say the 350z looks better, and thats that.

Quick Reply: Why do people think G35 is a class higher than 350z?
