Default It seems like everybody and their mom got a Z...

i mean damn,,,there are so many Z owners out there already and the car has just been released how long ago? i know a lot of people had "pre-ordered" one, but at this rate, by next year everyone and their mom will LITERALLY have a 350Z (or pretty close)....

what's everyone's thoughts on this? i know it's a great car, and everyone loves it, but how would you guys feel if you saw like 2 Z's on the road everyday?...i'm beginning to see more 350Z's then S2000's around here, and it's driving me crazy cause i'm so close to getting my Z...

I've got one, my mom doesn't.

. . . But she wants one ( auto convertible though!).

Who cares anyway, in a perfect world everyone would have a Z.

I pulled up behind a white Performance yesterday actually, it was cool.

I honked the horn, we both gave a thumbs up a drove our seperate ways.

It really made my day. I love seeing other Z's on the road.

my fault, maybe i explained it wrong or something...but...i know NOW it must be real fun rolling up next to another Z at a stoplight or somethin because they're pretty rare...but let's say in about year or so you see like 2 350z's on the road everday, are you gonna like the fact that the car's not as exclusive, or no?

p.s. i really don't care, i'm still planning on getting one real soon, but was just wondering what your thoughts were...

i knew that, but i never really paid attention to it, becuase s2k's are about the same price as the average Z, performance is the same, PLUS s2k's are convertibles, and you still don't see many of them around...i figured the Z would be pretty rare too, no matter what they claimed they can sell...

the reasons i prefer the Z over the s2k is the torque, "newness" of the Z, my fear that Honda will make a 2nd gen. S2K leaving me outdated (if i had a s2k), and the Z is a moer comfortable daily driver....

New Jersey has a [i]lot[/] of Zs, I've noticed, although I've never ran into my mirror image, and now I probably never will. I suspect other areas of the country like the South and Midwest, have very, very few. I can't remember if I saw lots of S2000s when they came out, although they were going for $40k and thereabouts, which seemed like the biggest rip-off. I've had mine for wow, 5 weeks now, and I've only seen another Z on the road once. All told, I think I've seen a Z about 10 times.

Will the Z become the Japanese Corvette C5? I don't think so. Even though it's very affordable, at the end of the day it's a sports car with no back seat. Most families don't have the luxury of having a weekender car with only a little practical value. The average Joe probably can't shell out $400 for payments and $100+ for insurance. But then, if you were looking for an exclusive Nissan, then a 280 or even an S14 probably would've been a better bet, as I expect the Z will be as common as the 996, and I see those quite a bit, but they never seem to lose their cachet.

I wouldn't sweat it to much. The 350Z is true sports car, and affordable at that. With trucks and Honda Accords topping the sales chart I can't see how the 350Z will become an everyday car. One positive of the popularity of the 350Z is that more aftermarket companies and tuners will take to the 350Z. Also the more 350Z's that are made, will mean more donor parts for the future repairs.

Default The more the merrier!

If you want a unique car buy a body kit or get a custom paint job. I'm really looking forward to the benefits that mass production brings to this car. I'm hoping that demand will be incredible for all types of aftermarket parts that I should be able to do whatever I want to this car. In my small neighboorhood there is all ready 3 350z owners including my next door neighboor! There has to be a least 50 350's within a 30 miles radius of my house already!

Move to Detroit if you don't want to see them very often. I barely ever see another Nissan period unless I'm near the Nissan Tech Center, NA in Farmington Hills.

I spend a fair amount of time in Indianapolis too but so far I've only seen one Z on the road driven by someone other than a Nissan employee.

they may be producing 30k a year, but that isn't for the US only. Do you think they are going to keep all 30k in the USA? I highly doubt it. Just look at the car, I am lucky to see one once a week here in OKC. Even if they could produce 1 million, I would still buy the Z. Just look at it, drive it, own it--don't worry about anyone else.

...really , your tellin me there are twin turbo Z's roaming through high school parking lots throughout the country? i can understand what your sayin, but can't relate to it...i'm 18, and i feel as long as i worked/still am working for my car and mods you can't downgrade nobody, cause you can't assume every teenager in a 30k$ car got it for their birthday...

Well lets figure it this way, even at 30,000 production vehicles released in the US, divided by 48 states (not counting alaska or hawaii) comes out to about 625 cars per state..... figuring the major city and local suburban areas will probably see 70% of that states production... Thats like 430 cars or so. Figure that most of them actually sit in a garage during the week and another daily driver is used to go to work and back (say 50%) Ends up being like 200 cars per MAJOR city and suburban areas on a daily basis..... Out of those 200, how many actually take the same route to work everyday? (figure there are literally thousands of companies that you could drive to, all strewn about an 80 mile area)

The way i see it, i am going to be one of a few exclusive people to be seen in my Z on my way to work for at least a year or two.

Sports Cars are still not very popular. You have NOTHING to worry about. For a comparision, take a look at how many SUV's you see on the road - every other damn car.

I must admit I like the exclusive feeling but in now way believed it would last. But I tend to agree with other folks here when they say it will probably be about as common as the S2000. So far I've seen about 7 Z's on the road tops, and none while driving my own! Seen about 3 G35 coupes for what's it's worth.

Wink Not to worry.....

No matter how many 350Zs are built or on the road, it will ALWAYS be a unique and attention getting sportscar. And a yearly production of 30,000 is NOT a lot.

Do you want to be one of a kind or just enjoy driving one of the coolest, best performing sportscars to come along in years?? If you want to be one of a kind, I suggest you start looking for a used Edsel!

Enjoy the ride~

Donor parts??? I just wish they cut down the production of the Z, added a nicer interior, and raised the price several thousand...That's probably the next year or the year after...
