Would you buy the showroom car?
So here's what has me tingling.
I go to the local dealer the other day for an oil change, checkup, etc. for my 2003 Enthusiast.
There on the showroom floor is a 2005 Daytona Blue Touring, with Nismo exhaust and 18-inch Nismo wheels. $35,000. I'm admiring it. Tell the salesman I'm thinking of getting that exhaust, blah blah.
Now the thought crosses my mind. Why not buy the sucker?
They'll be getting 2006 models real soon and probably won't want an old-style Z on the floor. I want upgraded wheels and the exhaust for my car anyhow.
And it's got leather, side airbags, bose. Stuff I don't have.
I'm thinking I can talk them down to at least $33,000, maybe $32K.
And I sell my Z myself and break even on my loan.
Would you do it?
Oh yeah, and I just bought a Pop Charger and 06 tails. Just save em and stick them on the new car.

Nissan is offering $1K on all 05 Z's. I bought mine that was on the showroom floor as well,
I would see how far they would come down. One problem with you is, they will get their $ back on your trade!

Buying a showroom car, I would look real good for scratches and the like on the paint along with the interior. Remember how many people sat in it and touched it etc... The detail kids prolly clean it every morning, at least they did at the dealership I worked at, so check the paint real careful. Also have them put a new battery in it before you take delivery. We had to jump ours everytime we wanted to move the cars. Other than that no problem, it stayed out of the bad weather and sun so that is a plus. Go for 500 under invoice and then the 1,000 rebate. Make sure you get blue book for your trade at the min. and return your trade as close to stock as you can, they devalue mods and can't resell it with them on sometimes so they pay to remove it, and you know the stealership won't pay for anything themselves. Go for it and congrats.
*Nevermind on the trade, just saw you aren't trading.

check the weather stripping at the top of the side windows (at the roof)...
If the battery died while the windows were "up", then the glass didn't come down
a bit when the door was opened....windows should always be "down" when the
battery is disconected, so I hear.

Showroom cars are fine...Just look at it first.
Yes, I would buy that car if you can break even. With those aftermarket parts I bet they won't let it go for less then 33K but 33K is WELL worth it.
